"I’m a construction superintendent and use Quality First Painting on both commercial and residential jobs. Some of the best painters in the business and they pay attention to detail and do great prep. Prep is where corners are usually cut and end up with paint in places you don’t want. Higher recommend"

"Christian and Nico show tremendous attention to detail in their work which results in a truly professional finished product. Their prices are well below the quality of their work. Additionally, they were very responsive to questions and moving things around some changes to my schedule. I called around to 5 different painting companies when getting quotes, don't waste your time and just reach out to Painting Plus first."

"Working with Terry and his staff was one of the smoothest and most satisfying experiences I’ve had with an Angi contractor. They showed up on time every time and did a great job painting the entire exterior of my home. I would recommend them for anyone looking ft or a painter. I will be contacting them again once I get going on the interior."

"Great guys to work with. They did an excellent job painting my house. They worked with us on different options and were upfront about additional costs. Overall, they deserve 10 stars, not just 5. They were trustworthy, and did everything they committed to doing with excellence. An example, painting just the rails on my front porch and deck. If we had not been pleased, they would have changed it back. Additional research was done to make sure they had the right paint to paint my front door, as the temperatures get extreme in that area. So far we have not had any bubbling, or change in the texture of the paint surface. Thanks so much Kevin for your research to make sure the right paint was used. Please strongly consider Brotherton Painting to do your next paint job! You will be pleased with the price and the finished product!"

"Certapro Painters did a great job, painting my decks and exterior trimmings of my house. The paint on my decks was perfectly done including the color and the quality of paint they used. Mr W Tierney and Nicki explained to me all the works to be done from start to finish and answered all my questions and concerns. They did an amazing job, I’m a satisfied customer"

Customers say: Quick response

"If you are looking for a Painting Company look no further than Fidel and Chrissy! Fidel is detail oriented, responsive, helpful and professional. We recently replaced the Hardie Plank siding on our entire home. This was a huge investment for us! We knew we needed a Painter who would understand how to properly paint new siding. Fidel has the experience and knowledge to do just that. His expertise and talent shines in his work. We've had many neighbors, who we don't even know, stop and compliment our newly painted home. Prior to painting and throughout the process I communicated with Fidel's wife, Chrissy. She was always very prompt in getting back to me and coordinated with Fidel on paint colors/ordering and scheduling. The process of painting our home with Fidel and Chrissy was flawless. I would highly recommend and hire F&C Painting and Tile again!"

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

The easiest and fastest way to remove paint from a surface is to use a chemical paint stripper to loosen the paint and then remove the paint using a paint scraper. You can also speed up the process by making the area as accessible as possible, which could include removing window sashes or taking doors off the hinges.

Yes. It's another reason many people choose to use the spray over an adhesive, as they can change patterns or remove it entirely with ease if they choose. You can use acetone with a rag or a vinegar and water solution (1/2 cup of vinegar to 12 ounces of water) with a cloth to help you scrub away frosted spray glass. NEVER mix these two methods together, though, and always work in a well-ventilated area.

A natural paint remover for metal is a solution of 16 parts water and one part baking soda or vinegar. When heated on your stovetop, these non-toxic household items combine into a highly effective solution that can be used to remove paint from small metal objects with tricky nooks and crannies.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.
