"Erik came and gave a very good quote on what essentially was an emergency situation with the drainage around the house. He got started right away and finished quickly. Our nightmare is over thanks to him. I've never received such prompt and well done service by someone who was so professional and effcient."

"Deep, from Vortex, came out, did am inspection and submitted a bid which was significantly lower than two other companies. I had used Vortex before for installation of a new water heater and knew I could trust them. They came out, dug carefully to find the sewer line, removed it, laid gravel for a better bed for the new line, installed the new line. Then with me watching through the camera, they carefully and slowly ground up most of the roots inside the sewer line far from our house. We were pleased with their work and clean up."

"My Septic tank was clogged and sewage was backing up into my shower. I had my septic tank cleaned out less than a year ago. We were afraid to flush the toilet until the drain was fixed. They appologized for being a few minute later than than estimated arrival time, but I-90 was down to one lane for repair work. They explained the likely solution. They dug up the yard to find the cap to the inlet of my septic tank. They cleared the blockage and told me to stop flushing baby wipes. They filled the hole and put back the sod. My problem was solved. They were relaxed, friendly helpful and professional. My neighbor had had a similar problem a year ago and it did not go so well for him. I was a bit worried about how expensive it might be based on my neighbor's experience and was amazed that their bill was under $200. After all I knew that it cost ~$100 for them just to show up.

"Don't hire anyone else. If you're looking for a company run by someone who understands what customer service looks like, call Perma-Dry. 4 years ago we worked with Perma-Dry to install an internal basement footing drain system - they were prompt, responsive, and did a great job. We've had zero issues. We recently discovered an issue with an old external drainage system (not installed by Perma-Dry) which backed up during a thunderstorm. When I discovered the issue, I called Ryan (owner) to get some help; he showed up at 9am on a Saturday (his day off) and spent 5 hours with me troubleshooting the issue and coming up with a temporary fix until he could get a crew out to install a permanent fix. He not only was a huge help, but his attitude was incredible - he was actually having fun working on his day off. In the 12 years I've owned my house, I've worked with dozens of contractors and never had an experience like that. True customer service is a lost art, Ryan and his team have shown us twice that they understand how to take care of customers and care enough to do the right thing."

"Turned out to be a bigger project so we needed a licensed plumber. Found Gray's Rooter on Angie's list and called around noon Friday for an appointment. They said they could be out to help us around 2:00PM. They arrived as promised. Confirmed where the leak was. The removal of the old faucet required a power saw as it was rusted in place. Hooked up the new faucet and made certain all worked with no other leaks. Cleaned up area after completing the work. Finished the job within the two hour window for the cost they quoted us and guaranteed their work for the life of the faucet."

Getting a quote for the job was very straight-forward with JM Plumbing & Mechanical.  I sent a message to JM Plumbing and Mechanical through Angie's List message feature.  I described the 3 problems and received a prompt response with a quote of $350.  Jerry and TJ arrived ahead of the scheduled time, and got right down to business.  They let me know the sequence they would be working on the issues and immediately shut off the water and got to work.  After the work started, I mentioned another problem with the water running in the toilet and Jerry said he would look at that as well.  They were prepared with the parts they needed for the initial repair requests, but needed additional parts for the toilet repair so went to Home Depot to get those and then returned and completed the shower handle, toilet repair, and outside faucet repair very quickly.  Then TJ got under the house, found the leaky pipe and caulked that.  That job alone was a big relief to get taken care of.  Considering the crawlspace under this house, I had no idea how much something like this would cost to have fixed, but it was completed by TJ like it was no big deal.  Before leaving, two more issues came up unrelated to my original request.  Jerry was very sincere in offering to check those out as well and did so in a matter of minutes.  I could not be more satisfied with the value I received for $350 and would definitely use this company again.

"Really great, fast, responsive, got me in the day I called and solved my problem.
Juan was really great, explained to me what was going on and got right to work clearing out the blockage.
He did a great job, cleaned up after himself and was done in about 30 minutes. I was so happy with the service I was asking him what other types of things they did and we ended up talking a little bit about the company, which is a local, family owned company. It sounds like they take really great care of their employees, excellent benefits and other perks and Juan seemed really happy and proud to work there.
Thumbs up from me and I will certainly call them again in the future for all of my drain issues.
Thanks guys!

Everything went well, except the painting portion.

The drywall, removal and install and the mud portion was excellent quality and service

The window removal and install was excellent quality

The painting preps and quality standards of hiding the nails and caulking was not up to where it should have been. It took two trips to have the painter complete the project where it needed to be.

Otherwise would recommend this company they are punctual, professional and do quality work and ensure that the customer is satisfied with the job.

"I called Hagee this morning at 815 am and at 2.30 the same afternoon the sink is working, the clog gone, and the kitchen is all cleaned up.  Caleb did an amazing job fixing everything up, plus he cleaned up the space and corrected my husband's slight plumbing error.   Caleb let me know he was on his way, and then left me with his business card should we need anything else.

He highly recommended the hydro clean, and I am planning to schedule that sooner rather than later.  Everyone I spoke with at Hagee was fabulous.  Thank you Caleb and Hagee team.

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

If you cook a lot or have a larger household, a garbage disposal can be worth it, since it streamlines your kitchen duties and helps to keep food waste out of landfills. It helps to know the cost of garbage disposal installation before you make your decision. The average price is about $400, but you can expect to pay more for higher-end models or if you hire a pro to do the job for you.
