Payment 1/2 down, final down due upon completion of project. We do take credit cards!

"Ted exceeded our expectations. We hired Ted to create a flat backyard and RV parking on our sloped property. Watching him excavate and move boulders with his equipment was like watching someone use a bionic arm to perform surgery. He removed our existing boulder wall, moved tons of dirt, and rebuilt the wall better than before, with little room for him to maneuver his equipment. We also had Ted dig trenches and remove part of our concrete foundation with great care to not damage the rest. He's talented, precise, creative, committed to do a good job and really pleasant to work with. We're extremely happy and highly recommend him."

"I have heard this company used to be a very solid company for a long time. Apparently things have gone downhill. After I sent the information they needed to obtain a permit for the asbestos removal, I asked to schedule a date to have the work done. I received no reply. Six days later, I sent a followup message, asking if we could schedule a date. Again no reply. I was therefore very surprised to receive a call a few days later, that the workers were already at my condo, on a day when I was out of town, and they couldn't do the work, because there was furniture still in the rooms. Maybe I should have known that I needed to remove the furniture, but I was never told this, either on the phone or in the quote they sent. And in any case, I had no way of knowing what day they were coming, since they didn't reply to my messages. I was given a choice: either they not do the work, and I pay for the workers' wasted travel time (my condo was a 3-hour round trip from their office), or I pay them $450 to move the furniture. No explanation why it would cost $450 to move the furniture from two small bedrooms into an adjacent room, but I basically had no choice. Afterwards, I explained that it was not fair for them to charge me for this furniture removal, when it was their own fault: they never told me the furniture needed to be removed, or even when they were coming. Their response? Pay up. The work itself seems to have been completed well. My issues are with the lack of communication, the surly tone of the office staff, and the extortive practices."

Although the use of asbestos has declined since the 1980s, it remains in several different types of building construction materials for insulation and as a fire retardant. Typically, asbestos can be found in materials such as ceiling and floor tiles, heat-resistant fabrics and coatings, and roof shingles. Like many dangers in the house, asbestos isn’t easy to see when it could be causing serious damage. The amount of time exposed, combined with the person’s tolerance for asbestos inhalation and the amount inhaled, will all contribute to health problems.

In most cities, it isn’t legal to cover asbestos tile. This is because it’s difficult for the average homeowner to know if they’re causing fibers to become airborne. While there is a method of sealing the asbestos in place—called encapsulation—this needs to be done by a pro, and isn’t appropriate for all situations. 

The four types of hazardous waste are items that are ignitable, corrosive, reactive, and toxic. Examples include gasoline, car batteries, aerosol cans, and lead-based paint, respectively.

Asbestos-containing materials, like duct wrap, should be encapsulated using a sealant specifically formulated for asbestos. These sealants work to bind with asbestos fibers and help further neutralize them as a health risk. Whenever you’re working near asbestos-containing materials, be sure to keep safety as a top priority and wear a P-100-rated respirator as well as protective clothing.
