"About 6 weeks ago, Francisco charged me $300 for 2 hours of work to remove vines from my property. He assured me they'd remove the vines BY THE ROOTS. Within 2 weeks of the removal, my property was littered with more vines, some over 8 feet tall (see attached photo). Clearly, the roots were not removed. I've filled up my food container again and again with the vines since then. I'm disabled, which is why I paid Francisco to remove the vines, and it's very difficult for me to now do the work he was paid to do. Francisco now wants to charge me $350 to do the exact same work he failed to do the first time around. This man is a con artist and a scammer."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a sprinkler system can leak when turned off. If this happens to you, it may indicate that your valves (which stop the supply of water from the source) are leaky or that the water hasn’t yet finished draining out of the system. In this latter case, you’ll likely notice the leak coming from the lowest sprinkler head, since that’s where gravity will bring the water to drain.

In North America, pipe measurements are listed as the nominal pipe size (NPS). This measurement refers to the outside diameter. As an example, a 1/2-inch copper pipe has an outside diameter of 5/8 of an inch. If a hardware store lists a pipe as having a 2 NPS, it means that all the pipes with this measurement have a 2 ⅜-inch outside diameter, regardless of wall thickness and inside diameter.

No, they have multiple designs. Choosing a bathroom fixture will depend in large part on the current configuration you have. You will want to pick a model that matches the faucet holes currently in your sink, countertop, or wall. If you want to make a complete changeover, you may need to buy and install a new vanity and sink at the same time you purchase your faucet.

Yes, it’s necessary to have a sink drain stopper. While your sink will still work without a stopper, a stopper is necessary to keep things other than water from going down into your pipes and potentially clogging them. It prevents plumbing problems by keeping out unwanted debris and objects like hair, soap, toothpaste, dirt, and jewelry.

Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.
