"The Consultant, Michael H. was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He assisted us in picking the design and fixtures, and assisted with financing. Everything was exactly as ordered. On the day of installation, John M. and Payton P. arrived on time and took great care to protect our furnishings before starting the project. They were both very friendly and respectful and they took pride in their work. John M. consulted with us prior to installing the bars and shelves to ensure placement was to our satisfaction. My husband and I are very pleased with our new shower."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals offer design services that ensure cohesive appearances.

Pros provide detailed quotes and efficient management, reducing overspending risks on materials and labor.

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.
