"Mike, the owner, is a great guy. His workers were hard-working, nose to the grindstone type of men. They did a great job trimming/de-sailing my very large, tall pine trees in Yelm, WA. They cleaned up great too. I will hire Mike and his guys when I decide to remove a few trees. Use them, you won't be disappointed!!"

"Francisco has been my “go to guy“ for all of my macro projects for many years. He limbs my fur trees, prunes my hedge (14’x14’x180’), winter prunes my 30 fruit, removed fallen tree from my house, installed new shrubbery beds. He is trustworthy, reliable, and excellent in what he pursues. You will love his generous smile and great attitude."

"This company is exceptional. Prompt, courteous, excellent price. We had a huge cedar removed and they were finished in 3 hours. We love trees but this one blocked our satellite dish. They cut the logs for the wood stove (we need to split) and piled the branches in a neat pile and the wood in another. Will definitely use again."

"Harold and his crew did an amazing job. H&M gave us the lowest bid on removing three large evergreens trees. The high bid was 3 times what Harold's quote was! Harold and his crew were prompt, professional, considerate and went way above and beyond our expectations. Thank you H&M!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

You can trim just one side of the tree, especially when that side is growing near something like a power line or a home. Pros will carefully trim the tree back until it is safe from that structure. While this is common, it also needs to be done with the utmost care, as pruning or trimming away at one side of the tree may make it structurally unsound. This instance is yet another where hiring a pro is wise, especially if power lines are involved.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.

It depends on where you live—but in most areas, leaves begin falling in September and continue falling until January or February. Warmer regions, such as Southern states, may see leaves fall a bit later in the calendar year. It also depends on the type of trees in your yard and their maturity.
