"Polite, professional and knowledgeable. Dispatch and plumber were great. I appreciate that they did not charge a fee for an estimate, as many other plumbers I found on HomeAdvisor do."

"The installers, John M. and Peyton P. were top notch, and did an awesome job. They were prompt, professional, courteous, kept things clean, and insured everything was tidy and perfect. They clearly take great pride in their work and it shows. It was a little more money than I wanted to spend, but the end result is beautiful."

"Had Groundworks install a drainage system and sump pump in our home’s crawl space. Anthony and his crew, Jordon, Uriel, and James were Outstanding. It was a three day job. They were on time every day and worked their tails off each day. It was a muddy job in cramped quarters. They never complained. Anthony kept me updated on the progress they made each day. Anthony shared pictures of the job as it progressed. They cleaned up the job site each day. Anthony went over all the details at the completion of the job and answered all of my questions. The whole process was Great. From the initial inspection done by Kristy to the office staff and the installation. The communication was also Great. I highly recommend Groundworks for a complete and thorough job."

"Professional, courteous, knowledgeable. They did exactly as their proposal laid out. There was no mess; the job was completed quickly. I had 3 bids for the work; they were $700 & $1400 cheaper than the other two companies."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Your home’s plumbing has three types to ensure safe water usage and waste disposal. You have your drinking water plumbing system, which sends clean water to your sinks, bathtubs, and other faucets; the sewage plumbing system, which removes wastewater from sinks, bathrooms, and appliances; and the drainage system, which helps with rainwater runoff control. Each system works to keep your home dry, clean, and functional.

Your baseboard heater usually should have a bleeder valve, but if not, look for air vents that bleed out the air automatically. If you cannot locate the bleeder valve on your radiator and it doesn’t feel warm even when the heat is turned on, call in a pro to have it inspected.

A chipped bathtub could leak over time if you don’t take care of the issue. A tiny chip isn’t a big deal but may eventually grow into a larger crack. As the months go by, the tub’s barrier against moisture becomes weakened, making it prone to leaking. Large chips can also cause the tub to rust and even crack in half.

To check the water pressure in your house, you’ll need to use a water pressure gauge, which you can purchase at your local hardware store. Locate your outside water spigot and attach the gauge (following the manufacturer’s instructions). Normal home water pressure is between 40 and 80 PSI.

PVC pipes are more affordable and applicable in most parts of your home’s plumbing system than copper pipes. They also require less maintenance. The only major restriction with PVC pipes is their low heat tolerance. Therefore, they’re not your best option for supplying hot water from the water heater throughout your home. PVC pipes are also larger in diameter, so they may not fit into certain spaces in your home.
