"Eagle Electric helped me with a full basement remodel. They were very kind and respectful. They were on time and finished early , they even cleaned up after themselves! I have found an electrician that I will use for any future electrical issue I have."

"Kevin was personable and very efficient. I wod have him back for sure. The price was very high which I didnt like but it seems that any type of electrical, plumbing or handyman work has skyrocketed almost pricing folks on a fixed income out of the ability to make needed repairs or home upgrades next to impossible."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

We highly recommend that you use an electrician to wire a doorbell if you don't have electrical skills. You can tackle this project on your own, but it would be best done alongside a professional to reduce all the safety risks, as working with wires can be dangerous and potentially deadly.

Yes, you must use the proper wire nut that fits your wire gauge. Using a wire nut that’s too big or too small can cause your connection to fail, short circuit, or disconnect entirely. Ensuring that you have the proper wire nut size will guarantee that your connection lasts as long as possible.

If only half of your outlet works, there are usually two possible causes: faulty wiring or a half-hot outlet. The first thing you'll want to do is check the circuit breaker panel to ensure that it's not tripped. If your circuit breaker isn't tripped, turn off the electricity and inspect the wiring to see if anything has come loose or corroded.

If you have a half-hot outlet, it means half of the outlet is controlled by a switch somewhere on the same circuit, which should be nearby. This is an intentional electrical design commonly found in rooms without overhead lights.

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.

Yes, many remodels include electrical upgrades for lighting, outlets, or charging stations. Confirm with your contractor.
