"It went great. They were fast, courteous, and very efficient. they did everything we asked at the best price. we had about 520 plus square feet of popcorn ceiling containing asbestos removed. They had all the right equipment and knowledge to do the job correctly. Leaving a clean and safe environment. first day sealed the entire room second day removed popcorn ceiling, taking off vents and light to get to all the ceiling."

"We initially hired Nick's company to repair some damaged drywall in stairwells, a laundry room, and a hole in our ceiling from a roof leak. Later, we had a water heater die and also had to remove some drywall that got wet in the garage. His repairman Alfredo came out to our place on three separate trips, always very promptly and with great communication via email. He worked quickly and efficiently, took care of obtaining all the materials (including matching the paint), and made everything look as good as new. He is also very pleasant and a great self-manager. We're so happy with the work he's done that we called Nick to give us a price on exterior painting. He again was very responsive and came out to our place to give an estimate. The price is fair, so we will hire him again."

"I had a bad situation of asbestos in my old Seattle home in Sandpoint. I called Alfonso and he was able to get on the job right away! His prices are very reasonable and the overall outcome was amazing. I would hire again!"

Lead Testing and Removal questions, answered by experts

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

Professional lead removal involves identifying and safely removing or encapsulating lead-based paints and materials, using specialized equipment, and following strict safety procedures to minimize exposure and contamination.

Lead paint test kits are not always accurate. Several factors can play into why a test kit provides an inaccurate result such as user error, sample viability, the age and condition of the paint, or difficulty interpreting the final result. If you are looking for 100% accuracy, hiring a professional lead paint test is the only way to get that piece of mind.

You can expect to pay between $200 and $400 for a lead inspection, where your local lead testing pro will scan surfaces and items with an X-ray fluorescent analyzer. Lead risk assessments are slightly different and run around $800 to $2,000. A pro may find lead during an evaluation, and create a removal strategy.

With regular testing, treatment, and maintenance, water from a community well should be safe to drink. Unfortunately, the EPA does not regulate private wells, and contamination can happen.

If you have doubts about the quality and safety of your drinking water, you have options for testing. You can pick up kits from your local home supply store or harvest samples and send them to a local testing facility. To get the most complete water quality testing and system diagnosis, seek a local well professional. They know what to test for and can recommend and implement a longer-lasting solution.
