"We started our exterior house painting project in September 2023. Our house was built around 1910, so the siding is very old wood and very much needed to be repainted. It was getting near the end of the season and after talking with Sergiy, we thought we could get the job done before winter. Sergiy was able to power wash the house and started scraping and caulking. Unfortunately, we started getting rain and the weather turned cold. Sergiy used what few good days we had to put a primer on the whole house. That got us through the winter. This Spring he came back did some more caulking, scraping, and took care of anything that winter threw at us. Sergiy was very conscious and meticulous, and he didn't just paint the house but made every effort to ensure the best result. He chose the best type of primer and paints for our application. Sergiy did the best job possible and we highly recommend his services."

"Tony is fantastic, he did a lot of projects in our home, drywall replacement, installed hardwood floors, painted, performed extensive work on our deck to make it safe & stable, repaired our French doors. He did a huge job of cleaning & detailing my Grandmothers house to sell (we got $40,000 over asking price). My son hired him to frame, drywall the basement in a house he bought. He framed in & installed a hanging microwave, framed in the dishwasher as well. All in all Tony is a great guy & does awesome work. Would absolutely hire him again."

"Homero and the guys did an awsome job inside and out on all the painting and stain on our new build. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy with their work, which was Exceptional! What a blessing it was to find these guys! We will be recommending them to all our friends and family. Thank you Homero!"

"Our poor old deck had seen better days. We contacted Andre about replacing it and we knew from the beginning that we contacted the right company- we got one bid only. Andre worked hard to get the job finished before winter. He was efficient, honest, and our deck is built well, looking like a piece of art. We’ll definitely hire AMP Construction for future projects."

"Chris and his crew always does an amazing job. He has painted my whole exterior house, resurfaced my huge outdoor wrap around deck and also painted my indoors stair railings. All turned out beautiful."

"It went very very well for the 4 1/2 days. His preparation was really good. I took all the pictures off the walls. He taped all of the woodwork and covered all of the furniture and items that did not move easily. He did not waste time or product. I requested a dark color on one wall in the dining room and he accepted the challenge and gave 2 coats to insure even coverage. When I called him to get an estimate, I was most impressed with his politeness over the phone. He came and looked the project over, gave me an estimate, and I hired him on the spot. I was confident that he was going to do a good job and I was not disappointed. Every day he was right on time and was willing to accommodate my schedule a couple of times. At the end of the day, he cleaned up all his tools. I purhased the paint and he furnished everything else that he needed. I felt at ease the whole time and enjoyed having him join me for lunch - enjoyed some good conversation. I recommend John's Painting and know he will do a fine job.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

It is definitely worth sanding a deck to ensure the wood absorbs new stain. Sanding a deck removes the outer layers of aging wood, allowing the stain to penetrate. It also gives a fresh look to the entire surface as part of the deck refinishing process. Without sanding, your stain or sealant is less likely to absorb into the wood. While sanding a deck is a time-intensive project, the rewards are noticeable and long-lasting.

Pricing depends on prep work, paint/stain choice, area size, scaffolding needs, and detailed trim inclusions like precision-balanced windowsills.
