"Tony and Daniel did an excellent job for us. Always on time, courteous, friendly and respectful. Great attention to detail and genuinely wanted us to be happy with the job which included painting ceilings, walls and trim in living room, bedrooms and hall. We will definitely use them again!"

Small jobs welcome

"Highly recommended! The project went very well. Konstantin and his crew did quality work and were able to work with us through the surprises and unexpected challenges that come with a project on an old 1904 house like this. The kitchen and mud room turned out beautifully. We would not hesitate to have them come again. Everyone was easy and very pleasant to work with."

"Amy Weaver is exceptional at her ability to take a client’s needs, ideas and design dreams and turn them into something better than I could ever have imagined. She is extremely patient and professional. Home Depot is lucky to have her on their team. She even sold us on another flooring project Home Depot quoted, that we weren’t entirely sold on, by explaining their proposal more thoroughly and suggesting solutions to our objections. Amy earned our respect and inspired several future projects with Home Depot. I only hope she will be recognized for going so far above and beyond. Thank you Amy!!"

"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"We hired a bad handyman for a bathroom remodel...We had to redo half the project as it was subpar. Thank goodness we found a good company, Epic Transitions. With Jon leading the project, our bathroom remodel is amazing. The tasks performed were: painting, electrical, shower design and installation of glass door enclosure, linen closet, flooring demo, laminate flooring install, toilet install, baseboards, coat closet bifold door install, barn door install, and floating vanity install. We were impressed with each phase of the project and we are now enjoying our new bathroom. Great company, quality craftsmanship, excellent communication and design options offered too. We highly recommend Epic Transitions!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

Custom closet renovations offer a return on investment of 50% to 60%. This means that if you spend $2,000 on a closet remodel, you can expect to see your home's value increase by $1,000 to $1,200. Investing in a custom closet allows you to enhance your daily living experience while building equity.

We use storage in nearly every room of the house, so it's no surprise that we lose track of things from time to time. The best way to organize storage is to declutter each year to cut down on auxiliary items that can be donated or tossed. Once you decide what's worth keeping, create an inventory list for all boxes you won't open for at least six months.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.
