"Truly Professional and Reliable Contractors. They are by far the VERY BEST Contractors we've ever hired and would highly recommend Pac Nor West and Dustin and his crew. On time, reliable, conscientious, clean, professional, and did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. We had a few very minor fixes (almost always involved in construction) and Dustin addressed and fixed the small issues immediately and happily. We also had a small issue with our countertop supplier and Dustin worked and communicated with them and they came out and also fixed the minor problem (seam) in a timely manner. So, I would also highly recommend N.W. Granite in the Spokane Valley for your tile and counter top needs. I can't say enough good things about Dustin and his company. Very Pleased !! Would most definitely hire them again !!!"

"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and solid wood are all popular options for closet shelving. Plywood and solid wood are sturdy and ideal for extended shelves or heavy items. MDF is a budget-friendly choice for light to moderate storage, but it can sag under heavy weight if not adequately supported. Wire shelving is another alternative that allows airflow, making it especially useful in humid spaces such as laundry rooms or basements.

Yes, books are typically heavier than clothes, unless you have a collection exclusively of paperbacks or comic books. That’s why packing lots of books warrants careful planning and consideration. Consider packing up your reading collection first to determine whether you need to downsize it before loading it into your moving truck.

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.

Adding a mudroom is one of the most budget-friendly home additions compared to other projects, costing between $8,000 and $16,000 on average. Not only is the room often quite small, but it also requires minimal fixtures or wiring to make the room practical. The most costly features include a weatherproof floor and an exterior door.
