"the sub contractor tried to install a backsplash, ended up covering about 36" of a light strip for under counter lights with a thick sealant, ruined the lights. After 2 attempts of trying to make the backsplash look decent, we asked the crew to leave and hired a new contractor, who installed the backsplash beautifully. Made numerous attempts to contact the owner for a resolution to this issue; heard NOTHING from the owner. Not happy, Spend way to much money for lights that don't work, Do not understand how we can be charged such an amount for lights that were ruined."

Companies that are NOT licensed, bonded and insured open the home owner up to no available recourse in the event that the job goes bad. If a non licensed company does more damage to your home there is no option for you the home owner to get help and corrections from an insurance company or from the bonding company. If work on your home is done by a company that is NOT current nor legally hire employees and someone hurts themselves while at your home, that person can be allowed to use your home owners insurance to cover medical bills and fee's related to their injury. It is important to do your research as the home owner to make sure that you are covered by the company you hire.
