"I absolutely loved working with United Master - from the Sales guy, Omero, who was always courteous, patient, and always readily available, to Mario and the paint crew, who did a phenomenal paint job. Their work was first class with some of my neighbors stopping by to comment on their work quality, and they were very fast and efficient too. We have staggered roofs with some risky heights and these guys painted every area with deligent and painstaking care. The Sales guy had agreed to refinish my front door after quote was signed with his painter but seems like there was some miscommunication between both. However, they got on the call and within 10mins, the painter was headed to the paint store to get more supplies to work on the door - no hassles! Best thing about United, other than their great staff and work, was that no other painters came even close to matching their rates - not even remotely close! Best value for money, I ve spent in a while. Thanks UM!"

"Brennan is a true pro. We contacted him on short notice to repair some drywall throughout our house and install new drywall in our bathrooms as part of a remodel. We had a narrow window to get the work done, and he fit us into his schedule and got it done on time. He did excellent quality work. His pricing is transparent and easy to understand. His communication was excellent and reliable, which was very important as we were trying to coordinate several moving pieces at once. We ended up moving the goalposts on him a couple times during the project, and he rolled with each one graciously. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing drywall work."

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

Many homeowners choose to install tongue and groove over drywall. The great thing about this type of ceiling is that it hides imperfections. If your drywall is a little bit wonky or has some minor damage, the tongue and groove planks should cover it and give it an even appearance. Installation is simplest if you install battens over the existing framing before installing your tongue and groove planks.

Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.

Costs depend on damage size, labor rates, and whether additional services like painting are required.

It’s less costly to drywall a fireplace than shiplapping it since material costs are higher for shiplap. However, if you’re DIYing the project, shiplap is less expensive since you won’t have to pay for labor. With drywall, getting a smooth finish is difficult unless you’re a pro. Shiplap is ideal for an accent wall or unique space, such as around a fireplace, since it adds texture and gives off a cozy vibe.
