"Brock was very dependable and worked with us on a small project, painting and caulking exterior of our two story house. He also offered to fix our cobbled together bird screens on our vents and they look great. I appreciate the communication with a contractor, it doesn't always happen and it did with Brock."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"On August 13 around midnight, we had the host to our refrigerator break and we now it leaked for a lteast 3 hours.  As a result our handwood floors, tile floors, walls, carpet. padding, ceilings, insulation, were badly damaged.  After consulting with our insurance co. we went to Angies's List and found three contractors and asked for bids.  When the deciision to go with F/X Repair was made we contacted them and they were at our house within a day or two.  Tom Miller, his wife Nancy and Brian were at my home daily and I could not be happier.  These are the most amazing people.  Tom is a master carpenter, Brian is a wonderful jack of many trades, but Nancy... Nancy is the icing on the cake.  She makes sure all small mistakes or "booboos" are corrected and the best thing is she comes behind the construction crew and does a PERFECT of cleaning the rooms after the repairs have been made.  (she paints too)  I had a mess and she left it sparkling.  I have to smile now, these people not only became or repair crew of choice they became our friends.  They were very nice about fixing little things as they went along that might not have been caused by the flood, just little things but that means so much.  Bob, the owner of F/X Repair is diligent about checking in on the phone, coming by and consistantly staying on top of the job to be sure we were completely. satisfied.  My husband had done  a lot of the remodieling in our home, and much of that was damaged so he was very "picky" about how the repairs were done, and is very pleased with our finished product.  I even picked out a color to repaint our master bath and was very disapointed when i got it home and we put it on the walls, but; Tom saved the day by mixed it with paint we had used in our bedroom and I have the most beautiful bathroom now with a paint color we have named "Tommy Taupe".  I am guessing it's fairly obvious we would recommend these people and this company to anyone who might need their services.  Understand, things are not perfect but nearly perfect and I am very happy.
It is such a pleasure to write a review like this, especially since it is my home.  All I can say is Thank You F/X Bob, Tom, Nancy and Brian for being so great and our dog BooBoo is still watching for you to come in the door.  By the way, these guys had the hardest time leaving our little dog, they brought her treats and loved on her daily.  She misses them.

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

For a seamless screen repair project in Longview, start by inspecting all window screens and frames on a dry day, noting areas with damage or moisture exposure. Prioritize repairs during the drier summer months to avoid delays from rain. Opt for fiberglass or aluminum mesh, which resists local humidity and wind. Double-check if your project involves structural changes, as more extensive window screen replacement may require permits.

Helpful?

Completing screen repair in Longview enhances curb appeal and demonstrates proactive home maintenance, both of which attract buyers. Clean, functional screens improve ventilation and keep pests out—important selling points in the Pacific Northwest. Well-maintained window screens can help your home stand out in the market, potentially leading to a quicker sale and preventing future issues like water intrusion or pest infestations.

Helpful?

If you see torn mesh, loose splines, or bent frames in Longview, screen repair or window screen replacement is likely needed. However, if you observe water stains, rot, or persistent condensation around the window, the issue may be with the window itself rather than the screen. For widespread moisture damage, consult a window contractor to assess for deeper structural concerns.

Helpful?

In Longview, schedule screen repair if you notice torn mesh, rusted or warped frames, or screens that no longer fit snugly. Look for signs after heavy rainfall or windstorms, as these can worsen damage. If you spot increased insect activity indoors or difficulty opening windows, it’s a clear signal your window screens need attention as part of regular home maintenance.

Helpful?

WA’s frequent rain and strong winds can quickly wear down window screens, especially on west-facing sides of your home. Plan repairs for July through September, when weather is most predictable. Moisture-resistant materials help prevent mold and corrosion, while reinforced frames withstand gusts from the Columbia River valley. Proper installation is crucial to avoid issues from temperature swings and freeze-thaw cycles common in the region.
