"The crew was punctual, communications were very good, customer service was excellent. The jobs, 2 projects, were done efficiently and quickly, and when they had a question or a better way to do something they asked first, instead of possibly doing something wrong. They were very personable as well. I would highly recommend this company, and I will be using them again."

"They were out on time and did a wonderful job of patching the roof. This as a temporary fix to get me through the tough fall and possible winter months. I now am expecting an estimate for a complete roof and expect to hire them for the job."

"We absolutely love the work that Jack Brawney LLC accomplished for us. They assisted in finding an asphalt company to pave our driveway, successfully resolved our drainage issues, and beautifully landscaped our circular driveway! Not only did they do all of that but they did it quickly and efficiently! One of the only contractors we’ve worked with who kept to the schedule they promised! Would hire again and soon!"

"Out of six contractors I contacted for my HVAC openings, Moore Scanning & Coring blew them all out of the water. They were professional, courteous, and prompt with replying to text messages and conducting the actual work. I didn't think my project was going to even happen until I reached out to these guys. Highly recommend!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

After a house fire, you should not reenter your home unless the fire crew has told you it’s safe to do so. In the longer term, you should not attempt to make repairs to the house on your own. Professional crews are trained to clean up after a fire (including smoke and soot damage), dry out any water damage from the firefighter crews, and make the necessary structural, plumbing, and electrical repairs—and this is all likely covered by insurance.

You should have either an ABC or K-rated fire extinguisher in the kitchen. ABC fire extinguishers put out wood, trash, paper, plastic, and textile fires along with grease, oil, gas, kerosene, and electrical fires. A class K fire extinguisher is specifically rated for use in the kitchen and is designed to extinguish combustible cooking materials, including grease and fat.

To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning on a propane heater, make sure that your heater is suitable for indoor use. When you run the heater, it should always be in a well-ventilated area with proper air circulation. Installing carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home is also essential. If you have any questions about using a heater indoors, contact a local heating and oil company for more information.

In most cases, having a fire hydrant installed on your property, whether it’s maintained by you personally or your municipality, will reduce your insurance premiums. Its proximity to any buildings on the property will reduce the time it takes to put out a fire, thus reducing the resulting damage.

A fireplace hearth is necessary in most areas per building codes, especially for gas and wood-burning fireplaces. Electric fireplaces may not require a hearth, so check local building codes or ask a pro for guidance if you’re leaning toward electric. A fireplace hearth can decrease the risk of flying embers creating a fire and burning your home down. That’s why fireproof material, like tile, is used for the hearth.
