Beacon Plumbing is a plumbing company originally established to serve the city of Kent, Washington "known for its slogan - stop freakin'...call beacon" & its ads with "Marshawn Lynch". Beacon Plumbing was founded by Bill Cahill in 1999 with 1 employee and his son, and was named Beacon Plumbing Heating & Mechanical, Inc. for much of its history. Based in Kent, Washington Beacon Plumbing has now has over 50 employees and has served over 100,000 households, making it one of the largest plumbing companies in Washington. Bill Cahill is the current President and Owner.

"*** BEWARE, GROSSLY OVERCHARGES••• I have a condo in Seattle that my daughter lives in. We had a need to have a toilet reinstalled along with a washer & Dryer that needed to be hooked back up. I live in California and she was unable to do this work herself. I told her to call a plumber and I’d take care of the charges. My daughter had my permission to use my card to pay for the service. She was in a nearby town doing an opening of a new restaurant and was unable to be there and called Beacon to do the work. The tech sent over a docusign which she filled out and provided payment. Afterwards, my daughter sent me a copy of their invoice. It mention the need for some newer parts (hammer arrestors, braided hoses, wax ring and bolts for the toilet. Cost of parts when I priced them out through Lowe’s was roughly $120. They charged my card (my daughter approved it because she didn’t know any better). $2772 for the work. That equates to roughly $2300 in labor for something that should have been fixed in an hour. A very expensive lesson learned for my daughter and myself. This company should be ashamed of themselves. Obviously, had I seen the quote, I would have refused the job. Their response- Jeff, It is actually a contract. Beacon does not offer unearned discounts when the proper prices are charged. Even when reviews are left that is clearly trying to damage the company, are untrue. We are declining to offer an unearned discount at this time. Mark J Sr Mgr Beacon Plumbing, Heating, Electrical & Mech. Inc My response- Well, I never disputed whether it was a contract. My daughter did sign the contract. When I first contacted you I acknowledged such, and my review clearly stated that she signed for it. What your company calls ‘proper prices’ are outrageous. If you have children or grandchildren, I hope they’re never taken advantage of the way my daughter was. I have the money and means to cover the cost, again that was never the issue. Your company is lying if you think I wasn’t truthful in my review. It happened 100% the way I listed. Was the review meant to get your attention, and if it were to damage your reputation, that’s solely based on your company’s ethics, because nothing was untrue."

63 years of experience

Taft Plumbing & Septic is a small family owned and operated business. We have been in business for over 50 years and are on the third generation. From ground water to waste water

"My experience with Taft Plumbing was awful. I am not one to leave reviews but I am writing this in hopes it will save another family some money, time and frustration. It has taken me 5 months to calm down. I feel we have been robbed by Anna Taft. Money was demanded, services were never received and to top it off our water system was worse after receiving their “service”. In short, I would NOT RECOMMEND Taft Plumbing for well water services. Here’s the full story. There’s a lot to it. But I think it’s worth the read. We are on a well in Naselle. Our water is full of iron and we also have slight water pressure issues. There are 3 filters in our pump house that we have to swap out every couple of weeks because of the iron build up. If they get too clogged it affects the pressure in the house. We had dealt with this for too long and wanted to finally solve all of these issues by having someone come out and replace everything/tune-up/repair it etc…no matter the cost. We called Taft’s office (Ocean Park, WA) and were told that since we live out in Naselle it would be $100 to even come look. We said please do. A nice man named Brandon came out and explained to us that it might be the pressure tank that is causing our trouble. We may have to refill it or buy a new one (as our current one may have a leak) to solve the problem. He filled it and installed a new pressure gauge. He also said if that wasn’t the issue it may be the starter pump control box. He couldn’t work on this portion though because it was an electrical job. He left and told us to keep them informed of the pressure and we could go from there. In the meantime we had great pressure for a day or two. Which I called and gave praise for. After that though, the pressure was way worse than it ever was. Sometimes we would turn on the faucet and there would be nothing. NONE. Not even a trickle. I called Jim in the office and gave him another report. I told him how it was great for a day or two but now we have nothing. After 3-4 days of our water not being reliable (sometimes it would work & sometimes it wouldn’t) and me calling to demand help…someone finally came back. We were not home when they visited. I happened to see the van in our area so I called the office again to ask what was going on. Jim told me our system was too robust for their capabilities but “Kinetico” would be calling us with service options (5 months, still no call). They also recommended Wadsworth Electric to inspect the control box. I called and left about 5 messages with a receptionist and never received a call back. In the meantime, after thinking this joke of a service was going to cost me $100…I checked the mail only to find a bill for $523.19! FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for making our system WORSE. I was furious. I was able to talk with Anna about solving this issue and she was only willing to refund $95.00. I’m not sure she understood that their “service” caused the disruption of our water flow to the house. I couldn’t have been more clear. It was awful. We felt like we were camping in our own home. So not only did we not have reliable, running water but we still had to pay $420.49. Next step call my Dad. He’s a busy contractor who lives 3 hours away. He diagnosed the issue over the phone, came down asap and fixed EVERYTHING in FOUR HOURS! Hallelujah I can shower! Starter Control Box - $80 80 Gallon Pressure Tank - $693 12 Gallon Pump - $665 Misc. Supplies - $117 Travel (6 hrs.) - $510 Labor (4 hrs.) - $380 Work From My Dad: PRICELESS (Taft could have made over 2k) She even told me over the phone that they don’t do work in Naselle… Uuuuuuuuh then why accept customers?! No thanks Taft. Never again."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

It’s generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. In most cases, the level of sewer gas you’re exposed to in a home will be low enough to only cause minor symptoms, though high levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous. If you’re smelling sewer gas in your home, it’s important to locate, assess, and fix the problem, because it won’t go away on its own.

If used correctly and sparingly, root killer shouldn’t damage your pipes. Make sure to follow the instructions on the back of the bottle or the company’s website to avoid any unintended damages. However, when it comes to copper sulfate, it’s better to avoid it. This type of root killer can damage your plumbing and the surrounding environment.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.

No, it’s best not to leave baking soda and vinegar in the drain overnight. While using baking soda and vinegar can be helpful to clear out hair and debris in your bathtub drain, this mixture might start to corrode your drainpipes due to its caustic nature if left in the drain too long or used too often.
