"Eli's did an INCREDIBLE job on our patio. When Jimmie came to give us an estimate I knew he would be one of my top picks for the project. He was friendly, easy-going and very knowledgeable. As I was deciding between Eli's and two other companies, Jimmie blew them out of the water. His estimate was half the price of one company and comparable to the other company's, but the deciding factor for me was his RESPONSIVENESS. He was the only one who responded to my texts immediately. And when I say texts I mean dozens upon dozens of questions, design ideas and a never-ending supply of screenshots from google images... I was a little excited. During the project, they were very AMENABLE to other changes or additions....like creating a 4 ft retention wall so I could have a larger bump out for the fire pit. It added several days of extra work for the guys and involved an ongoing battle with stubborn 30-year old ivy that was not intimidated by their chainsaw or excavator. They even replaced a few random stones that were bugging my overly critical eye. Everyone on the team was friendly and RESPECTFUL of us and the property. I never saw anyone smoking and they always cleaned up any trash/tools at the end of the day. Even one time when I was outside with the kids Alex came over and told us they were about to use the blowers and suggested we go inside so we wouldn't get covered in dust...I could go on and on. And I guess I already did! Our patio turned out even better than we could have imagined. Bottom line - hire Eli's Paver Patios for your project! As long as your scheduling doesn't interfere with them coming back to OUR house to do the walkways, front entry, driveway and side patio."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The cost to pour a driveway apron depends on the material and size. Concrete costs $3 to $10 per square foot, asphalt ranges from $2 to $5, and pavers are $5 to $15 per square foot. Additional expenses, like excavation, base material, and labor, can increase the total cost. For example, a standard 12x15-foot concrete apron could cost between $540 and $1,800, depending on local rates and additional work required. Always consult a local driveway paving contractor to get an accurate estimate tailored to your project.

Common alternatives to a gravel driveway include concrete, asphalt, brick, stone pavers, and permeable pavers. Concrete and asphalt are generally the most affordable options. However, concrete can be prone to cracking in cold climates, while asphalt may soften in areas with high heat and direct sun exposure. For enhanced curb appeal, brick, stone, and permeable pavers are popular choices, though their installation can be more expensive due to intricate designs. Stone pavers offer a natural look and are sometimes installed with gravel around them. Both permeable pavers and brick driveways provide excellent drainage, which helps prevent flooding and reduce water runoff.

Regular sealing, crack filling, and professional inspections help extend pavement lifespan and prevent costly repairs.

Overall, a paver driveway is considered the easiest to maintain because homeowners are able to do driveway repair one piece at a time without impacting the rest of the driveway. Unlike paved options, paver driveways contain individual stones that aren't physically connected. By comparison, you may need to reseal or redo a full asphalt driveway if just one portion sustains a significant crack.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.
