"There was some miscommunication between the dispatcher and I but the plumber that came to my house explained the issue and rescheduled me for the weekend. I explained the urgency of filling in the trenches and he accommodated my schedule, he was great to work with. He spoke very highly of his company, not something you hear everyday from employees!"

"Paul remodeled our one small bathroom in our new condo. He did mosaic tile flooring, subway tiles on the walls, installed a new bathtub and vanity and toilet, and put in all of the hardware (including vanity lighting). He ended up needing to do some behind the scenes plumbing, subfloor, and drywall work too. It turned out so beautiful. He did everything we wanted and we’re beyond happy with how it looks. Paul was always easy to get a hold of, always returned texts and calls in a timely manner, and was really easy to work with. We highly recommend him!"
"The outcome is fantastic! The time line was interrupted with some pre-scheduled vacations, so maybe took a few weeks longer overall than it would have. Bob and Banner were so easy to work with, listened to what I wanted, offered suggestions that were thoughtful and helpful and were committed to my satisfaction. As with most remodels, there were challenges. The biggest one was creating from scratch a new shower pan for the oversized length of the shower. The issue, as you might imagine, was getting it to drain properly in all directions. But they redid it (at no cost to me) and got it right. I have a lot of respect for their problem solving skills, workmanship and budget conciousness. They are skilled at carpentry, tiling, plumbing, electrical and painting. The whole package! Definitely would bring them to future projects, of which I have many. "

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.
Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.
PVC pipes are more affordable and applicable in most parts of your home’s plumbing system than copper pipes. They also require less maintenance. The only major restriction with PVC pipes is their low heat tolerance. Therefore, they’re not your best option for supplying hot water from the water heater throughout your home. PVC pipes are also larger in diameter, so they may not fit into certain spaces in your home.
Whether a pot filler is worth it depends on your cooking habits, budget, and kitchen layout. For avid home cooks who frequently prepare pasta, soups, or stocks, the convenience of filling large pots directly on the stove can be a significant benefit. A pot filler can also add value to a home, attracting potential buyers with its combination of luxury and utility. However, the installation can cost around $800. The return on this investment is highest in larger kitchens where the sink is far from the stove. In smaller kitchens, where the sink is nearby, a pot filler might be perceived as an unnecessary feature by some homeowners or potential buyers.
The use of polybutylene pipes stopped in mid-1996 in the U.S., following a class action lawsuit that was filed against polybutylene plumbing manufacturers. Homes built between 1978 and 1996 are most likely to have polybutylene plumbing.
