After working in the business for 7 years and obtaining a bachelors degree in landscape architecture, Pedro Garcia chose to build his own company . With the help of his wife, Mandolyn, 2 older brothers, Adrian and Eleazar, and a close family friend, Jessen Jene Buste, the adventure began in March of 2011 in the state of Idaho. Advanced Landscape Design & Construction (ALDC) is a company that is family owned and committed to the ideals of strong ethics and personal attention to every customer. ALDC aspires to grow in the next several years to eventually own a nursery and rock yard as well. Building a strong foundation for the future of the company, we pay close attention to details to provide quality services. Pedro has sold, designed, and supervised all of the work of their young company, ALDC. Within the first half of the year the business existed, a full-fledged company was established with 4 employees, all company owned equipment, and jobs throughout the Inland Northwest. We have invested our time and funds in making the company grow into a legitimate, reputable business. In addition to our design-build department, we have a professional garden care department that is available to help with any pruning of shrubs and trees, lawn care, and general maintenance of flower beds. Snow removal services are also provided in the wintery seasons at any hours of the day or night. The company embraces the ongoing growth of technological advances in the design-build landscaping industry and will continue to fill niches in this particular area.

Palmer Owner - Ace Landscaping

"They were on time. The work they did look great at first. However 4 weeks later the weeds had grown back. It was obvious they had just cut the weeds down in the arborvitae instead or removing them. Weeds were also growing in the rock pathway they laid although a weed barrier was place down. Before they left they had rinse the rocks off after they were place which just create a mud and dirt path for weeds to grow. I call three times and each time was told they would be back to redo the work and would call me with a time. They never called back. I recommend you find someone else. Any company that will not stand by their work should not be in business."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

Lilac roots are typically not destructive, but they can be a nuisance. Lilac roots can extend 15 feet in all directions of your garden. Therefore, the roots can reach water and sewer lines in search of moisture and nutrients if you’ve planted them too close. Yet, the lilac roots aren’t likely to cause any damage to water or sewer lines. Instead, the roots will overtake the area.

If the tree is very small—under 4 or 5 inches in diameter—and you’re experienced handling a chainsaw, you may be able to cut down the tree on your own, provided there’s plenty of room for it to fall.

However, felling even small trees can be dangerous, and it’s always advisable to have a spotter on hand. This will help make sure the tree doesn’t fall the wrong way or that branches aren’t about to fall on you while you’re working.

If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.

Most chemical treatments that kill roots will also damage the grass around it—including more natural substances like Epsom salt. In this case, cutting tree roots is probably your best bet if you want to preserve the grass. Use caution before you cut or prune roots to make sure you know what you’re cutting and know the risks if you make an error.
