"OUr 21 yr old kitchen had a sliding glass patio door that we desired to be removed and replaced with a standard entry door and security door. This project was accomplished in early October. The project was completed in two days, with the kitchen entry door fully operational by the time the two workers left for the day. They not only had to remove the old patio doors, tracks, install new framing, but also empty and move a floor to ceiling cabinet blocking the wall space needed to make a seamless connection with the original wall. On the exterior of our home, they also prepared the area to install new plaster siding to again seamlessly connect with the original siding. The following day, the exterior security door was installed and everything was fully completed. During this second day's work, a matching security door at the front entrance of our home, including a covering of sun screening material was also installed. All necessary painting was meticulously performed. We are extremely pleased with the results. Now that the cold temperatures have been visiting us for a while, we definitely notice a coziness in the kitchen without our heat pump having to be on continually to experience comfortable warmth. Whenever I have recently baked (Cornish hens, strawberry muffins, Scottish shortbread cookies, made from scratch yeast breads, and etc) the kitchen remains comfortable into the evening hours. No more taping the patio door gap to keep the cold air from seeping into our home!"

"I hired Therma shield to add tinting to my homes windows. Not only was the entire crew friendly they were professional and efficient. They explained what they were doing and why. The tinting turned out wonderful, after seeing the first window completed I added additional windows to the work order that initially I did not think I would want it on. "I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

"This was the worst business transaction I have ever had. It starts with arrogant high pressure salesman who will tell you what he thinks you want to hear, but in reality he is not telling you the truth. When the work is NOT done by the time the salesman tells you it will be, the people in Spokane will not give a crap. They will not call you back and if you keep calling them, they will twist all the words around and somehow make it your fault. The paperwork is never-ending and either lost or reaches a point of cancelation so you will have to sign them again. I have signed the same paper 4 times now and told them never to come back to my house again. I am so disappointed in this company and hope to save someone else months of misery and frustration. I have been on the phone with everyone there from the schedulers to the general manager and got no satisfaction from them. It is a horrible company and I am so sorry I even contacted by them. Wish I had known what they were like before I proceeded. Beware!!!"

"The project was essentially a remodel of a circa 1950's beach cabin with a small addition. We chose Baker and Son on the recommendation of our neighbor who had used them to build a detached garage. Our plans were relatively simple at first: build the addition, expand the kitchen, build a new bathroom and create a new entry. As work was underway, it became clear through the advice of Baker and Son that our kitchen was too big and out of scale for the cabin. We ended up eliminating some walls and opening up the cabin in such a way that created one large room but still a separate kitchen, dining and living. It was a huge improvement to the original design. In addition to the interior work, Baker and Son completely overhauled the exterior which included new windows and siding. New structural headers were required because they didn't exist. Also, since the cabin is post and pier construction, they leveled and strengthen the existing structure. Work included new skirting as well. Their attention to detail was very impressive. They are masters at creative problem solving, patient, responsive and positive. They have a very strong sense of design. We were never pressured into quick decisions. The contract arrangement for our project was essentially time and material because formulating a bid on an old cabin remodel would involve too many unknowns. We agreed to a fair hourly rate and all material and subcontracted work we paid directly with no additional overhead or fee. This saved us money. Since we lived out of town, Baker and Son were so well connected with various vendors and subcontractors, it simplified making arrangements. Now that our project is complete, we are so excited about the end result! We would highly recommend using Baker and Son Construction for any project."

The windows are wonderful and installation was quick considering it was 20 windows and 2 doors. They kept our home clean and We have noticed such a huge difference already.
