"Dan responded almost immediately to my email request for a site visit and was out within a few days to take a look. He made several recommendations and gave me an emailed bid based on the options we discussed. I met with 2 other local contractors (larger construction outfits) and both gave similar prices for the work to be done. We decided to hold off on the job for a few months until our financing was lined up and at that time I reached out to Dan a second time and asked him to come back and meet with both my husband and I to hash out details. He sat down with us and went over everything from lighting to size to color schemes and made recommendations. We agreed on a price, paid a deposit, and he started the permit application process. Our permit process became a huge ordeal thanks to the County and Dan was there every step of the way to make arrangements on our behalf and go to bat with them so we could get the deck we wanted. This was likely due to the fact that Dan built nearly every square inch of the deck by himself when we had assumed he had a larger crew."
