"Great! Joe was very flexible with our timing, super friendly and helpful. He had the best diagnostic rate of all the places that got back to us, and got the work done quickly and efficiently. Turns out our ceiling light just had a bad bulb but he didn't make us feel silly about it and patiently took the time to educate us and explain things to us. Also fixed our garage door which had been broken for years. Joe is awesome!"

"I didn't feel they ever took the time to understanding exactly what we wanted to have done. They seemed to be looking for a big project not just a kitchen remodel. The estimate for our kitchen was 3x our budget.

"We first found out about Joe when touring some of the homes he's built in Kirkland and the Eastside over the years.  We always appreciated the attention to detail, the overall design integrity and high end work we saw in JD Bergevin Homes.  The positive reviews on Angies List were a nice surprise but just a bonus that underscored that we'd picked the right one to help us with a major update/remodel.
He's enthusiastic and a can-do personality.
We scheduled an initial meeting right after we closed on our house.  Again, attention to detail even before we met was great, calling and emailing me a couple times to follow up on date/time.
When we met, he had scheduled everyone that would potentially be working on the project.  I thought this was efficient and he said it also enabled him to turn around estimates that much faster.
You can tell he's definitely has a strong leader role with his subs.  By the way, I didn't appreciate this until we met with another contractor who did not come across this way, even said something to the effect that he was at the mercy of his subs.
A distinct difference.
We had many highly informative conversations about matching our remodeling punch list up with budgets and processes.
77Our project has taken some turns so we have not used him yet but plan to.

"SolTerra did an absolutely fabulous job and has been a pleasure to work with. :-) We initially contacted them over a year ago for an estimate so that we could plan for our installation, get a few estimates, and compare technologies. After doing exactly that, we reached back out to them to move forward with our installation; everything SolTerra had in their proposal (which had three energy options) reflected just what we were after: the latest Enphase micro-interters, 400W Solaria panels, Enphase control systems, LG batteries, and very good warranties. Throughout the entire process, Kevin was there to answer any questions that came up. Once we decided to move forward, SolTerra put us on the schedule and kept us updated on the tentative start date. We were initially looking at starting in June and actually started at the beginning of August - not bad given the disruptions of the pandemic. When the day arrived, so did SolTerra with 33 solar panels, mounting hardware, and various other system components. The installation of the mounting rails and panels happened at the same time as most of the electrical system installation - after 5 days the panels were installed and the majority of the battery system and Enphase control systems were installed as well. There were a couple delays due to a defective control board (which took a few weeks to obtain a replacement), but even while waiting for the replacement the SolTerra electrician and team finished up every part of the installation they could and scheduled the necessary inspections. By the beginning of September, we were all set and waiting for PSE to drop by to approve the installation and throw the switch to turn on the system. Throughout the installation, the electrician and crew were very communicative, keeping me updated on the progress they made each day and the timeline for inspections and any associated updates. I particularly appreciated the electrician's updates when the defective control board was discovered, and that he provided me with lots of details each day as he installed new components or made alterations. The end result was a beautiful system, from panel arrays to batteries to control systems and conduit - it was all very polished and showed professional engineering design and high-quality installation. After the system was operational, Kevin came to the house to provide a full walk-through of the system, components, and the related Enphase Enlighten app and its features. At the end of his visit, I had copies of all the plans, manuals, approvals, permits, and warranties, plus a complete understanding of my system and its indicators - I was one happy, informed customers. I was also really pleased that the SolTerra crew came right out when a small leak appeared from a vent that was jostled by the installation (the solar panel installation probably moved the old vent just a little bit). Kevin and Neil had a crew out the day after I contacted them and made certain that the vent and all nearby solar mount points were extra-sealed - the leak was completely resolved. I really, really appreciated their promptness and how they took the time to ensure there was no potential for leaks from the solar install - they stand by their products, crew, and customers completely. I would definitely recommend SolTerra to anybody considering a solar installation - they have a top-notch crew and use the best-in-class materials to provide a long-lasting, turn-key installation. I'll even be reaching out to them if we decide to expand out battery storage. :-)"

"A breaker in my kitchen that manages all the outlets (coffee maker, microwave, toaster etc) went on the fritz the Friday before Easter Sunday at 3 PM, and it would go back into position. It also tripped the GFCI switches in our bathrooms, shutting off those lights. I called POP based on Angie's List reviews. They have an answering service that takes their calls and forwards them to the electricians. I received a call back within an hour, and the tech. tried to help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone first. We determined that was not working so he arranged to have someone out on Saturday morning at 10 AM. On Saturday, we received a call from the tech. assigned to the job saying he was running early and would 9 AM be OK -- to which we replied YES! (remember, our coffee maker was on the fritz). He arrived on time, identified and replaced the broken breaker switch, and took care of a couple of other small projects (see above) while he was here -- things that my husband had started but had not been able to successfully finish. He was in and out in less than an hour. I was most impressed with their responsiveness and timeliness, especially on a holiday (Easter) weekend. Their price seemed fair, neither a bargain, nor high. The tech. was knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. I would use them again and recommend them to a friend."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

As you scroll through countless types of recessed lighting, look for features and light quality. Motion sensors can make your home more accessible. Smart-ready fixtures give you control at your fingertips. Light quality can set the mood. The package's label and the online specs for LED lights will display the lumens and Kelvin (K). Lumens tell you the brightness—650 for daylight, one for candlelight. Kelvin tells you the temperature—warm (below 4,000K), neutral, or cool (above 5,000K).

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

Combining different shapes with your chandelier and table can be a stylish way to add depth to your dining room. Whether you’re using a round chandelier over a rectangular table or a square chandelier over a round table, the general sizing principle is the same: Measure the narrowest point of the table and the widest point of the chandelier so you don’t end up with a fixture that overwhelms the space.

LED light strips might fall off your walls if the walls weren’t clean before installation. Make sure you clean and dry the wall first to remove oil, dirt, and debris that can keep the adhesive strip from fully sticking to the surface. If you cleaned the area and the LED lights are still falling, try installing fixing clips to keep the lights in place.
