"Tony is fantastic, he did a lot of projects in our home, drywall replacement, installed hardwood floors, painted, performed extensive work on our deck to make it safe & stable, repaired our French doors. He did a huge job of cleaning & detailing my Grandmothers house to sell (we got $40,000 over asking price). My son hired him to frame, drywall the basement in a house he bought. He framed in & installed a hanging microwave, framed in the dishwasher as well. All in all Tony is a great guy & does awesome work. Would absolutely hire him again."

"Jeremy was prompt at coming out for the initial quote and explained how he would complete the job. He took into account the wind we typically have into his sprinkler placement. He was very willing to tweak the design of our system and lawn design to meet our budget. When we made design changes, he was quick to give us an adjusted ballpark quote and then followed up with a more detailed quote for the changes. The crew was very professional. They worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves daily. Everyone was polite. The crew worked hard and spent long hours at our house. Because the weather didn't cooperate, they ended up working both Sat. and Sunday to finish up our lawn.We are extremely pleased with the results.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

Yes, you can build a deck around a fire pit, as long as it is safely enclosed, meets code requirements, and is at least 15 feet away from your home. You’ll want to ensure you have a heat-resistant barrier between the fire pit and your deck to prevent any structural damage and fires. A galvanized ring surrounded by pavers, brick, or stone makes for a beautiful, safe, and sturdy design.

Yes, Ipe is more expensive than Trex decking—both in terms of materials and installation (plus, Ipe trees are endangered). On average, Ipe decking costs $10 to $25 per square foot, while Trex decking costs $5 to $12 per square foot. Because Ipe is harder to work with, the price of installation is higher, too. For Ipe decking, you’ll pay between $20 and $45 per square foot for labor. However, with Trex decking, the labor costs range from $8 to $22 per square foot.

To flatten a cupped deck board, start by ensuring it’s dry. Then, try flipping the board over so the cupped side faces down and reattach it. If that’s not possible, you can use screws to pull it tighter to the joists or plane the edges slightly to reduce the cup. It’s best to replace severely cupped boards.

The cost to repair a deck is between $900 and $3,500, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. For example, fixing a sinking deck caused by pest damage can cost between $200 and $600, while replacing sinking boards costs between $500 and $4,000.
