"I used to work in the security industry. Once I got married and had kids I definitely wanted a home security system. Bought ADT about a month ago and it’s worked out excellent. No glitches or issues and everyone was awesome in the buying and activation process."

"After a recent break-in at my business in Kent, I discovered none of my wireless Alro camera recorded any footage at the night of the incident. I called 5 local companies and received only 2 estimates in a timely manner. Wade was the only person that returned my call on the same day and came out the next day to look at the building. He showed me jammers that are available to the public that can easily be used to disable the security systems. I am very happy with the system and service provided by SVC. I decided to work with SVC because they are professional, prepared, fast and more importantly honest. They were able to fit me in on their schedule the following week and installed 26 cameras inside my warehouse in 3 days. Stop wasting time and money on the wireless camera systems. Wade and the team members are on time and super easy to work with. I would recommend SVC to anyone!"

"The technician was swift, knowledgeable, and was very well versed in the Lorex camera system. He installed the application on our phones, secured our modem and WiFi. Made sure everything was working properly before leaving. He was a very nice man. I would definitely recommend them for communication solutions."

"It went great!  From Travis the sales person to Noah the installer I couldn't have asked for a more professional and through team to deliver my home security needs.  We just bought a new house in a neighborhood that's up and coming but there's still an element that we want to protect our home and valuable from.  Security One helped us find a system that we could monitor while we're away and that would make my girlfriend feel safe when I'm not a home.  We highly recommend them especially Travis and Noah.  Ask for them by name!

"Jimmie was quick to response and he  knows his stuff, was able to advise on some additional stuff and worked with all the issues he ran into with the previous installers. They were able to work around the issues and clean up the mess and provide us with alternatives to secure the house. We had couple of issues after they finished installation, but they were prompt to respond and acknowledge the issues. Excellent turn around turn around time and service, easy to work with and communicate.

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

Security experts recommend deadbolt locks as the most secure option for a house's exterior or entry doors. Deadbolts provide the best security because they can prevent most types of forced entry and are harder to lockpick. Common types include the standard single-cylinder deadbolt, which is often found on front doors. For enhanced security, you can opt for a double-cylinder deadbolt, which requires a key to operate from both the inside and the outside.

Insurance companies weigh the amount of potential liabilities on your property to increase (or decrease) the cost of your home insurance. They will use several factors to decide if there are more chances for peril or injury to take place at your home. These factors include your location (whether you live in an area with high risk for natural disasters), the age and condition of your home, and whether you have any “attractive nuisances”—features that both increase the aesthetic of your home and potential for injury—like a pool or treehouse.

Whether a security system or security cameras is a better choice for you depends on your needs and preferred comfort level. A security system can cost more depending on the features you choose, but it’s a more proactive and protective approach to home security by alerting you and authorities of any emergencies. Using a security camera system is a more reactive approach because while you can monitor the camera footage, it does not alert the proper authorities for you.

Leaving a light on at night probably does not deter burglars as much as we would like. While there isn’t much evidence supporting the theory that lights deter burglars, there’s not anything disproving it either. If you feel like it offers added security because a burglar thinks you’re at home, then you can set your lights to a timer so they go off and on at intervals, mimicking someone moving around inside the house at night. A better idea is to install motion sensor lights in your yard.

Smart deadbolts are a worthwhile investment for homeowners seeking more convenience, flexibility, and advanced features than a traditional deadbolt can provide. While a strong conventional deadbolt offers sufficient security for most, smart deadbolts provide significant upgrades.

Key benefits include keyless entry via smartphone, keypads, or biometric sensors, and the ability to lock or unlock your door remotely. You can also manage access for guests by creating temporary codes, eliminating the need for physical keys and the risk of them being lost or duplicated. Many models integrate with smart home systems and offer features like automatic locking, entry-exit monitoring, and tamper alerts with encryption for enhanced security.

However, there are downsides to consider. Smart deadbolts are more expensive than their traditional counterparts and rely on batteries and wireless networks to function. This dependency introduces potential vulnerabilities, such as hacking by skilled intruders and privacy concerns. Installation can also be more complex. Despite these drawbacks, the added layer of convenience and protection makes them a compelling option for many.
