"The afternoon after a big rainstorm, I discovered several various-sized water bubbles hanging from the bedroom ceiling. A deck above had failed and leaked into the bedroom below. Carlstrom Construction had completed an extensive kitchen remodel 8 months before. I called Sean Carlstrom and he arrived that day. He surveyed the damage, provided an estimate and, because it was an emergency, worked us in around the current jobs he was involved with. The repair involved tearing several layers of deck flooring out, installing a new sub floor with appropriate slope, researching a suitable solution, and preparing it for a technical coating. After the coating was installed, the necessary finish work was completed and repainted. In the bedroom, the ceiling was torn out, joists were cleaned and examined, new insulation installed, new drywall installed, and after painting, the molding was replaced. Before any work began, careful measures were taken to protect new hardwood floors throughout the work areas and their access. Although the final cost was more than first estimated, Sean kept us well-informed, provided options when possible, and arranged for us to deal directly with the recommended company to provide the final deck coatings so that we would qualify for the guarantee. We so appreciate that Sean Carlstrom responded to our emergency, scheduled us into his busy schedule, and worked with us to insure the best quality/ choices for materials, repairs, etc. Clearly, Carlstrom Construction feels a responsibility toward their customers and is interested in a continued relationship when needed."
