Recent General Contractors Reviews in Battle Ground
Great roofing company and I highly recommend them! Rufus and his crew were easy to work with. Good price and prompt and courteous service. The crew cleaned up every night before they left. The roof and new skylights look great and the attic fan they added really helped reduce the room temp in our southwest facing bedroom. Will definitely use them again when the need arises
We sprung a leak in the upper pond of our backyard koi pond so we hired Hans to rebuild the upper pond and fix the leak. Hans did a fantastic job at a reasonable price! He was very open to seeking creative solutions to the upper pond and he built a beautiful stream with two waterfalls using a combination of some extra flagstones that we had and materials he supplied. I was most impressed by Hans's ability to think creatively and with his aesthetic touch given the vague guidance we provided and curve balls we threw him. I would definitely hire Bamboozle again and I would recommend them to any of my friends

Dohn came right away and sent me a bid in two days. He and he competent workmen were a pleasure to work with, answered all my questions and the front of my house is beautiful I have received many favorable complements from my neighbors.
Incredibly easy and so very professional! The roof looks great, all the vents were replaced and some rotten plywood was replaced. All the old roof was removed. It looks fantastic!! We had a very tight timetable and they accommodated us at every turn. Shalena was incredible to work with and went out of her way to make this all incredibly easy!! We cannot recommend them highly enough
AWESOME. As a Realtor I will and already have recommmended this roofing company. I am a super pleased customer. The crew installing the roof was professional, courteous, clean and worked super hard to get the roof done quickly. A very positive experience. I got several quotes and chose Aylwin Construction based on a very competitive quotation and, again, am a super happy customer. Todd
They did an excellent job, and at a very good price. Work site was cleaned up daily, the quality of the work was excellent, and the foreman kept us informed as they proceeded and found the porch support problem (rot damage to a post, and cracks leading to failure in a beam).
Once the work was begun, it was worth the wait. The 2 man crew worked quickly and clearly explained what extra work needed to be done. They cleaned up every day and didn't damage so much as one plant. The total cost was less than the next highest bid (that did not include the extra work needed.) It was, however, 3 months from when we contracted to when the work began, and this was after a very unhappy phone call on my part. (First it was going to be 6-8 weeks, then after 6 weeks it was going to be another 4 weeks, then after 4 weeks it was going to be a week and a half, then ....) The owner, Rufus, did contact me very quickly and had the men at our home 2 days later. I know that roofing is dependent on weather and other manpower being available, but had the office just kept us updated much frustration would have been avoided
I obtained six or seven competitive bids for a major roof replacement project on a fixer upper house. Work included tear off and re-roof of garage and house, with some major carpentry, including construction of eaves, venting, some framing, four skylights and new gutters. Aylwin construction provided the most competitive bid and presented the best plan for extending the eaves by approximately 1 ft. Estimates for this job ranged from 39,000 down to Aylwin's much more reasonable bid. A couple of other companies provided bids that were in the ballpark but didn't want to do the framing, or did not have good ideas for how to accomplish the extension of the eaves. The work was done very well, quickly, efficiently and as agreed. I was particularly impressed with Rick Westfall, who oversaw the project for Aylwin and I recommended their work to a friend, who also agreed to to use their services. There were two issues I had with Aylwin relating to pricing. The initial bid was mistakenly underbid by them to the tune of about 1,500 - so they increased the price after I had already accepted the bid. I wanted them to accept some responsibility for making the pricing error, but they would not. They were still the best bid, so I agreed to proceed. They also added some extras onto the bill at the end but then removed them when I raised the issue. If you are considering getting roofing done, I would definitely get a bid from Aylwin and seriously consider having them do the work
I own two unique apartment buildings on one tax lot designed by Frank Lloyd Wright which were badly in need of roof replacement. Due to the fact that the buildings have a combination of flat and pitched roofs with built in gutters, the project was very complex and I had a lot of difficulty getting estimates for the project. Most of the roofing contractors that I would meet at the site would scratch their heads and I would never hear from them again. This job required a full service construction company that was knowledgeable in both flat and pitched roofs, gutters, extensive carpentry skills, stucco repair and skylight and window installation. I finally got in contact with Sean Schaumburg and Rufus Aylwin of Aylwin Roofing and Consruction and thank God that I did. Sean, the estimator and project manager was extremely knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. Rufus, the owner of the company, also came out to the job site several times personally to offer his expertise and make sure that everything was running smoothly and no mistakes were being made. The Aylwin crew was fantastic to work with and also very skilled at their trades. The job site was always cleaned up at the end of the day and they were always very considerate of my tenants disturbing them as little as possible. In fact I received many favorable comments from my tenants stating that "the crew has been so nice and a pleasure to be around". The job was done on time and on budget as promissed and the finished product exceeded my expectations. I am extremely pleased with the results and will definitely hire Aylwin Construction in the futur
Went well, price was reasonable, and they managed to start and complete the work earlier than I was anticipating. Small job, but they didn't need to start when they did, based on their schedules. Much appreciated.

"My crawl space was flooded due to a hot water leak, major moisture damage and unfortunately I did not know about Willamette restoration and used another company to dry out crawl space but walls in laundry room and entry had to be tore down and that's when Willamette Restoration came into picture and saved the day.
They completed the finish work walls, flooring, countertop, painting, replacing cabinets and I cannot say enough about their professionalism, timely manner in getting the job done. They went above and beyond my expectations and their cost was far less than a quote by another company.
If you want excellent workmanship Willamette Restoration should be your company of choice.

"The owner came out to give me an estimate to paint my house. The price came in about the middle of the others I gotten. It ended up being 3,900.00 for my 2 story 1600ft house with 25 year Sherwin Williams Super Paint. I also got quote for staining my fences and cleaning my walkways. This was scheduled a few months out from when I got the estimate at my request.
<br /> As we got closer, I started dealing with Ben who was the project manager. I had sent off the colors I wanted and he had lost the email during the time gap. I forwarded him the original email because I kept it. Pablo was the foreman on site once the job began. He was polite and professional. He explained to me what the process was going to be. Pablo did not mention the walkway or the fence. When I brought it up, he said he wasn't given a work order. They told him over the phone that the house needed to be painted. He did call to verify and then knew what the entire scope of the project was supposed to be.
<br /> Pablo and two others painted the house in a single day working over 10 hours a piece. It was a perfect sunny day to do it. They did really good, efficient job. We walked the house afterwards and touched up anything we found. Matter of fact, heavy rain moved in a few hours after they left. I walked the house the next day and found nothing wrong with the paint. Good stuff.
<br /> Pablo came back after the weekend to work on the fence and clean the walkways. Turns out the wood for the fence was pretty rotted. They got me a quote to replace the boards before staining. I agreed to it and two of them were on site for another 4-5 hours replacing the wood, cleaning the walkways and then staining the fence. I am happy I replaced the boards as it looks fantastic. I told them roughly what color of stain I wanted and what the picked was perfect.
<br /> Once it came time for payment, I dealt with Kim. Paid for most of it in cash and charged the rest. They charge a 3% convenience on the total charged. I had noticed it had been a few days without a charge showing up on my card. I contacted them and they told me to wait a couple of days because they did run the card. I had to ask how long it should take and what tells them payment was successful. Finally they said it was declined because they had the wrong card number. I gave it to them again over the phone and the charge went though.
<br /> Overall, they did a good job. The actual job was done really well and professionally. They just had a few hiccups on the administrative side with not holding on to information provided, communication with their employees, and communication with payment issues. Those were all resolved so I would recommend them and use them again.

"<p>I needed to tile our master bath room show after having it rebuilt. I provide all the material with the exception of tile underlayment and metal end strips. I was not satisfied with the quality of work was not professional. The spacing between tile was no uniform, the mosaic tile was flush with one another and he did not chalk around the shower drain once he was finished. I had the gentleman install my shower pan earlier and did a good job.</p>

"Tuck was just fantastic, He was thorough, explained everything very well when we had additional questions about our trailer, very pleasant and professional. He pays a great deal of attention to details. Just an incredible job."

"Ed's Roofing responded quickly and had Tyler call quickly. One roofer on Angie's List did not respond and the another responded slowly so I chose Ed's. The estimate was fair and the job was done when it was promised. Tyler was professional and courteous. One small con was they listed a 5% discount with Angie's List on roofing but did not specify on the coupon that it did not cover roofing repairs. It only applied to re-roofing/roofing. I would highly recommend Ed's and would use again.

"Bill came out and gave us some advice, then was able to bid the project on site. Took measurements and I had the bid email before he was out of the driveway. Once we accepted the bid, we were promptly scheduled. There were a couple delays in the process due to a truck breaking down, but communication was pretty good. The real reason I want to leave the review though is that we loved the crew. They were gracious and polite, hard-working and knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. Even better than that, though -- they were absolute angels to my children -- especially my 8-year old daughter, who was fascinated by everything they did. They explained things as they were going, and when it was time to stain, even gave her a brush and a little section were she could "help." I am so grateful for moments of humanity like these.
SFW Construction is known for high-quality siding repair work and being the first home repair contractor to specialize in properly treating dry rot for home and business owners. We work at above industry standards and use only the best products on your home. We hire the most experienced carpenters and provide training so they can continuously be improving at their trade. Since opening our doors in 2005, we have serviced thousands of satisfied customers in the Pacific Northwest
"We are still working with SFW to complete this project. Our condominium association is 50 years old, self-managed, and previous boards have elected to pursue a policy of deferred maintenance over some 20 years-- with unfortunately predictable results.
I want to stress that SFW has been a responsive and engaged partner in a project that exceeded scope, schedule, and budget. Their willingness to work with us to find a solution has been invaluable. The value proposition for a contractor is not how they perform when everything is going well, it's how they perform when it is not going well. On that basis, SFW Construction gets my unconditional endorsement.

"Every aspect of working with Classis Sash and Door was fantastic. The owner, Mark, was the only person who quoted our project that actually offered his own recommendations and insight into our window project to help our house achieve a unique aesthetic appeal. No one discussed divide light options with us for the windows aside from Mark unless we asked. He showed us the construction differences of the Marvin windows we ultimately bought vs other window types he and others install. He showed us divide light options which no one else even mentioned existed. He truly cared that the final look of our house generated some curb appeal even though we do not intend to sell the house. Project coordination and communication was fantastic. We got updates on the status of the windows from the factory and when the install team would be out. His install team was prompt, professional, and did a great job caring for both the interior and exterior of our house. The windows were installed on schedule and the carpentry work for the door was well done. Despite a couple project setbacks, the experience was fantastic. Classic Sash puts their customer first and it shows. There were a couple window interior sections from the factory that were not painted and were mounted adjacent to sections that received factory paint. Mark took care of it so effectively you cannot tell that the factory screwed up. One of our sashes was damaged during shipping, and again, no problem. They contacted Marvin right away, got a replacement ordered and installed it as soon as it was ready. I would recommend Classic Sash and Door to anyone looking for window replacements for a house they intend to keep or want some great input of enhancing the look of.
