"My wife and I recently purchased a home in Townshend, VT. The home inspection was performed by David Goodman of Total Property Inspections-Goodman Group of Shaftesbury, VT. Mr Goodman was very thorough as he did the inspection and as he performed it, he pointed out each item of current or potential concern, along with recommendations for corrections and the timeframe to make same. A few were immediate and previous homeowner made the corrections prior to our close. Others will be made over time, following Mr Goodman’s advice.   • Attic: Look near the insulation and near intake and exhaust vents.

Foundation cracks won’t always affect your appraised value. All foundations crack due to normal settlement, so hairline cracks that aren’t leaking or uneven from side to side are unlikely to have an impact on your appraisal. Structural cracks, on the other hand, often lead to a reduced appraised value, especially if the underlying problem will cause the issue to worsen over time.
