We found a adequate exterior doors at Home Depot and asked if Home Depot installed them. The salesman said the store did not install exterior doors, but referred us to a subsidiary, Home Depot Home Services. Their salesman came to the house but said they did not install the brand of door carried in Home Depot stores: Home Depot Home Services sold a different, better, and more expensive brand. After discussion, we agreed to have the installation made for both the front and rear doors. The salesman made out a specification sheet, but we wanted a couple of days to determine the exact colors and configuration. When we e-mailed the specs in, the salesman returned a change order at a somewhat increased price, which we signed. As the salesman had said, it took about two months for the doors to be manufactured and delivered to Home Depot Home Services. They kept in touch with us and scheduled the job for our convenience after that time. The installers appeared to be subcontractors to Home Depot Home Services. They arrived on time and were professional, diligent, clean, and courteous. Unfortunately, both the front and the rear doors had been built wrong. Some of the change order had not been included. The rear door was missing its window mullions. (We accepted it because it still looked good and matched the house.) The front door had interchanged the sidelight with the door and could not be installed. Both doors were of solid quality, were well finished, and looked fine. The Home Depot Home Services salesman immediately promised to re-order the front door. We expect the re-order will take about as long as the original. To sum up: the installation process and the doors themselves seem to be of high quality. There are disconnects between the Home Depot store, Home Depot Home Services, and the door manufacturer that are definitely a problem. Finally, we ourselves should have paused for better price research before we agreed to an installation after Home Depot Home Services told us they did not carry the doors we had selected.

The service provided to me by Home Depot Inc. was excellent. The price was a little high, but they did a great job.

Overall I'm not a big fan of Home Depot but the prices are better than most stores like it in the area. Although when you walk in you see a lot of employees walking around whenever you need one for something they are hard to find. The flowers are not great, I brought them home and had several tiny bugs in them, I know they are in dirt and that can happen but it seems it's only happened when I purchase from there. Most employees there are not pleasant and seem to force themselves to be friendly which is there job to be friendly, not all are that way, generally the younger staff members are.
