Striving to be the most competitive family driven company on the market! We specialize in all your Commercial and Residential grounds and property maintenance issues. Plowing, salting, sanding, landscape, handyman, and all kinds of odds and ends around you property!

"AVOID at all costs. We hired Menards Handyman for 4 construction projects inside of one large job. He finished (very poorly) 1 of the 4 projects before we had to hire another contractor to finish. He took shortcuts, was confrontational and underestimated the timeframe for completion by more than 6 weeks. We were left with plywood over an empty window hole, had to replace all plumbing on a bathroom remodel, he never properly insulated pipes (which ended up freezing), easily the worst sheetrocker/mudder/taper I've seen, we have cracks in the ceiling, another ceiling peeling, he never put insulation under siding, improperly ran electrical wires, flooring is pulling apart and knicked a water supply line and left it leaking inside of an interior wall. He Promised a warranty on all work he performed, when confronted with issues, he never returned emails, calls or text. Beware of positive reviews, 2/3's of them are employees or family. Don't repeat our mistake and pay twice for the same work, hire someone else the first time!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The primary parts of a house that need framing during construction are floors, exterior walls, interior walls, and the roof. The framing in these areas provides the skeleton for adding other materials over the top. With walls, for example, contractors can hang drywall over the interior walls and siding over the outside of the exterior walls. Proper framing ensures a sturdy house that is built to last.

There are a few options if you miss a stud. You can simply patch the hole with spackle, sand it down, repaint it, and then find the stud—essentially starting over. If you don’t want to do that, you can insert one of the more robust drywall anchor options and hang your item on that, but that will only work if the drywall is in excellent condition and the anchor is rated for the weight of the item you’re hanging on it. You may be able to cover the hole with the object itself once it’s mounted, but it’s still recommended to at least fill the hole to protect insulation and prevent vermin from entering.

Yes, a bowed wall can be straightened in several ways. If the bowing is minimal, it can often be straightened by installing anchors or straps. For more severe basement wall bowing, your contractor might need to excavate the soil outside the foundation and pull the wall back into its original position to straighten it.

Signs of structural damage include foundation cracks, roof leaks, bouncy floors, crumbling concrete, and cracked or leaning chimneys. Structural damage can make itself apparent in various ways, and sometimes, there may not be obvious signs. Inspect your foundation and roof annually to stay ahead of potentially serious structural problems.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.
