We are very happy with the work that Mark did to finish our basement. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was always on time, he had some great suggestions to improve on our intended design, and the work was top notch. Mark is one of those rare contractors who puts customer service at the top of the list. His team was polite and friendly, and cleaned the work area thoroughly at the end of each day. They worked quickly as well, completing all work within 4 weeks. As we were removing some lally columns to make the basement space more open, the first thing Mark did was bring in a structural engineer to review the loads and determine how best to shore up the beams. The work that Mark did would have easily cost me more than twice as much with the other contractor who quoted the job. I recommend Tongue & Groove 100% and will definitely hire them again!

Reworked plumbing and electrical, rebuilt back laundry room, installed new appliances, rebuilt back half bathroom, insulated room, installed new rear sliding door, drywall, tiling on floor, took down kitchen wall and put in a new beam, installed butcher block for breakfast bar Outstanding job, thorough, professional, worked closely with us on design, getting appropriate materials, worked with our vacation and availability, all of the workers on site were excellent, and Mark was responsive and fantastic. Highly recommend.

Wonderful. Finally, at last, I have found a contractor who has a heart, soul and conscience. A company that has a great group of workers who are there to do what you want, and how you want it done. I have hired other contractors such as Polli construction, as well as Don Pinette flooring. You have been told that they are good at what they do, but end-up doing the job as fast as possible, then hand you a bill for thousands of dollars. This last time I hired Tongue & Groove Carpentry, owned by Mark Judge. I had a bathroom vent fan , and this spring I had them remove all gutters and fascia boards on my house, and replace with new PVC boarding so I will no longer have to worry about rot or painting as long as I live here. They have been here everyday, do an excellent job, and clean-up everyday before leaving. When the job is done, the bill is not presented until you have done a complete walk-thru with the owner, and everything done as you wanted. Mark Judge is a wonderful person to deal with and I would recommend him to anybody needing a contractor, regardless of the size of the job. If your are looking for that right man for the job, T&C carpentry, is the right choice to make.

Mark and his team are amazing. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They stayed true to budget and deadlines and my house looks incredible. Mark was eager to answer any questions I had and was never short or condescending. He took the time to explain everything and help me through the navigation of remodeling via insurance. He is trustworthy and I would recommend him to anyone.

Mark and his crew did an excellent job. He even threw in a couple of things I needed done around the house staying within the quoted price. its very refreshing to find an honest dependable contractor who gives you a fair price and sticks to it then exceeds your expectations on top of it.

We needed a custom hexagonal window frame and sash replaced in our bathroom. Mark took on the job after other contractors turned it down. He re-framed the glass and replaced the rotten sash and he did it professionally and quickly and at the price as quoted. Between the time we initially contacted him and the final installation, it only took a week. We will definitely use him again for our future carpentry needs.

Mark and his team are outstanding. We bought a new house and wanted to get some work done quickly so we could get fully moved in. His team actually worked on the house doing flooring etc while we were living in a different state. He actually came with us to look at the shape of the house before we bought it. When he was doing work he was very diligent in giving us updates, fair prices and staying right on schedule. Once we were instate we did a total remodel of the bathroom. He and his team really are fantastic. The vast majority of the time he is onsite working with his crew. Even when he has subcontractors doing some of the work he is usually there. The two things that separate Mark from others is his punctuality and pricing . When we started our project Mark told us exactly what it was going to cost with a small buffer for anything that was unpredictable. He absolutely stuck to that quote. Furthermore, he does a fantastic job looking for ways to save you $. If there are two ways to do a job (one of which is less expensive) he will be honest with you and explain the +/- of both. In terms of his punctuality he was always on time, always showed up when he said he would and stayed right on time to finish the project. Frankly, one of the things I really like about Mark is his attitude. He doesn't mince words and he doesn't try to up-sell his jobs. He tell you directly how much something will costs and the upgrades/ downgrades you could choose depending on the quality/ cost you want. The quality of Mark's work is great. We were very pleased with the way everything came out for all the work he did for us. Please see the attached pictures. Mark likes to stay on time and on budget. Both of these are fantastic qualities in a contractor. As a client of his, that means that you have to know what you want (i.e. fixtures, details etc) or be willing to make decision fairly quickly if you want to keep the project on schedule. I think for most contractors who move at a normal speed this isn't a issue because projects take forever but because Mark actually tries to adhere to his timeline he wants to keep projects moving. At the end of the day, and end of the project we were VERY HAPPY. What I want in a contractor is someone who is on time, on budget, professional and fun to work with. Mark and his team at Tongue and Groove are all these things. We will absolutely use him for our next project!

Mark and his team were great. Mark did a great job at keeping me up to date on the project. I felt like he put the time and care into the job even though it was a small job and probably not a big money maker. My husband and I would definitely hire him as a general contractor in the future for larger projects.

Great! Mark was exceptionally responsive, professional, trustworthy. I have never had a contractor keep me informed every step of the way as he did. He never kept me wondering/worrying what was going on.

I selected Tongue and Groove Carpentry with Mark as our general contractor. He was very sensitive to the fact that we had only one shower in our home. He did not start the project until everything that we ordered was in town. He estimated it would be three weeks without a shower and he held true to his word. Each of his subcontractors were professional gems at their job. We were kept informed every day of the next anticipated step and timeline. Everyone showed up when we expected them and completed their task as planned. Mark was very conscious of our budget and kept me focused on staying within that budget. The improved LED lighting in our windowless bathroom is a delight and most of all the shadowless light in the shower. The radiant flooring was a "must" part of the project. We now have an easy to program thermastat and warm feet on our tile floor. This project went smoothly, and on time. I would use Mark as our general contractor without hesitation in the future.

Once again Mark and his team did a fantastic job with the project. It was completed on time and within the range of his initial quote. Mark's skill and attention to detail ensured that the doors looked better (inside and out) after he was finished. He also installed hardwood thresholds on the interior of both doors to increase the polish of the doors. Thank you Mark and Allan!

Mark and Allen did an excellent job . I called Mark at 9 a.m. and he and Allen were at my place by 1 p.m., with supplies in hand and ready to work. The job was completed quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable price. The quality of the work was excellent and they were careful to leave the house as clean as possible. I would call Tongue & Groove again without hesitation.

We are exceptionally pleased with the work Mark and his crew and subcontractors have done in our home.  Initially, we asked Mark to estimate the cost of repairs to our bathroom floor due to water damage.  He was upfront about the possibility of further damage below the tub, but wouldn't know the extent until he opened it up.  Thankfully, the damage wasn't as extensive as feared, but still required Mark to remove molded/wet sub-flooring, and sheet-rock, and replace them.  He and Allen did a great job; did it quickly (this room held our only shower), and kept it within projected budget.  (Mark also advised us to replace the damaged sheet-rock with PVC to avoid rotting in the event of future water damage.

As a result of this experience, we asked Mark to estimate the renovation of two bedrooms.  (It should be noted that the house was built in 1942, so they were dealing with plaster walls & ceilings).  Mark and his crew smoothed walls/filled cracks/holes (having to remove some of the warped areas and replace); covered "popcorn" ceilings with sheet-rock; installed/relocated new light fixtures; relocated a radiator in one room; built out and added lighting to an existing closet/added doors; added electrical sockets; painted and added crown molding.  This project also involved the replacement, sanding and finishing of part of one of the hardwood floors.  We decided we would also have our hallway and stairs sanded and refinished as well.

Mark and crew also replaced our storm door, and before doing so, he told me that the door I had chosen was not a quality one upon inspection at Home Depot.  Mark suggested using the same door he had installed in his home instead, but upon showing it to me, if I preferred the one I had chosen, he would install that door.  The door Mark chose was solid and of excellent quality and we love it!

Needless to say, my daughters are ecstatic with their "new" rooms!!  Mark and his crew were awesome about accommodating our needs while keeping the project on time.  Every afternoon when they were done, everything was left in order and vacuumed, etc., for our use.  Any sawing of wood that was done outside was cleaned up completely each day.  Mark was great about making suggestions such as crown molding to hide the uneven way the plaster walls meet the ceiling; and building out my daughter's existing closet a few feet to make it functional AND not compromise the size of the room.  He suggested moving the radiator down slightly to accommodate the new closet dimensions and address the problem with the adjusting knob.  (The adjusting knob of the radiator had been accidentally "walled in" within the original closet by a previous contractor!)

Overall, Mark was prompt, professional, courteous, innovative and budget-conscious!  It is refreshing to have someone who returns your calls/emails/texts promptly and does what he says he will do!  There is no doubt that we will be using Tongue & Groove Carpentry for future projects!!
