"We hired Jeff based on reviews from Angie's List. We wanted our basement converted to 2 bedrooms, bath, and workshop. Based on already roughed-in plumbing, he completed the job with help from a plumber and electrician. In order to comply with window egress codes, he built benches in both bedrooms beneath the windows, after replacing the windows with compliant models - by crawling under a 3-ft deck. He was punctual, reliable, and we trusted him in our home. He is quiet and straightforward, and he provided us with itemized invoices. He is about to begin a second bathroom renovation for us and we have hired him for a partial garage re-build. We recommend Jeff with no reservations - from framing to painting to carpentry."

"Greg is competent and precise in his attention to detail. He is hard working, fair, reliable, honest. He listens well and knows how to work with his customer, subcontractors and vendors. He has decades of experience in a broad range of construction areas and is well connected to other workmen, vendors. He is a fine craftsman and takes great pride in his work. He did what he said he would and always kept me informed about his work. His explanations about the project were clear. He more than met expectations for high quality work, for finishing early! He mostly worked 6 days a week. Greg completely renovated an old house in great disrepair to the point where I am proud to open a professional office in that space. He did a lot of heavy work and supervised at least 6 subcontractors, being knowledgeable about roofing, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work, and driveway grading. He created a retaining wall, brought a dilapidated garage up to code, put up drywall and painted, dug out 2 septic tanks, put down a cobblestone walkway, improved the vinyl siding, replaced numerous windows and numerous interior and exterior doors with energy efficient products, making the main office area totally sound proof from a major road with heavy traffic. He supervised the upgrading of the house from bathroom to closet space to fixtures to many cosmetic improvements. Can't say enough good things about Greg. Everyone likes working with him!"

"As someone building a second home in Vt., everything needed to be done from a 235 mile distance. This can feel a little scary. My experience w/ Joe was Outstanding!!! "If I could give 6 stars I would. Jack sanded my two decks, reinforced wobbly railings, replaced rotten boards, and stained all boards and railings. I was tempted to do some of this work myself until I realized I could not lift the sander. I am so glad I did not. Jack knew exactly how to fix the railings. He knew to recess the deck screws before sanding. He knew not to sand the deck until the moisture content reached a certain level. In short, I would have been totally out of my element if I had tried this work alone. I would hire Jack again in a nanosecond. He is knowledgeable, diligent, reliable, personable, and from what I saw, a highly skilled carpenter."

I'm currently looking for some fill in work for this winter. I'm a very capable carpenter/painter. I have full time work Monday through Friday, but have some availability on weekends.

"Alan is a trustworthy guy who wants to make his customers happy.  For big jobs, he works with a friend, and both of them together can do essentially anything (including basic electrical and basic plumbing).  We first hired him to remodel our bathroom.  It included tearing a wall down and expanding it so a bath could fit in the room.  They also had to tear down a 150 year old brick chimney in the process.  They installed a new vanity, built a shelving unit into the wall and put in the lighting.  The finished product was good.  The room was not square, but the house is built in 1836, so I don't know if anyone could have done that.  
Next, we had him install a railing on our stairs.  This came out great no complaints.  
He then installed a bedroom with laminate flooring and also the stair landing.  This job was not as clean, some of the floor trim was not edged and the lines of the wood running from the bedroom to the stair landing were not flush.  These negatives though were a result of a positive - that is, for this job, he worked from dusk until sun up because he had other jobs/commitments later in the week.  He is an extremely hard worker.  For this job we traded the finishing touches for timely completion - and overall the finished product was still good.  
The last major job was the sheetrocking in between our beams downstairs. 
In most jobs, there was a little clean up I had to do - pieces of wood from the carpentry of the bathroom left in a crawlspace, horsehair plaster or sheetrock left crumbled on the floor.  They forgot to include thresholds in the bathroom and bedroom jobs as well.  HOWEVER,  whenever I spoke with Alan about any of this, anything I had not already done, he came over promptly and fixed/completed/cleaned it.  He was reachable and kind and we trusted him.  He said a few times that he wanted to make sure we were happy.  
We called him on two or three separate occasions because he is a hard worker, he is trustworthy and his price is reasonable.  We would call him again for sure.

Other contractors caused him to change his schedule with me twice and in the end he came up on a Saturday to finish the job. His prices were fair, his craftmenship was excellent, and his knowledge of more than tile install was invaluable on this job. He was also quite helpful giving me suggestions when I asked for them. I will definately go to him first on my future project needs."
