PROs --Best price of the 3 quotes I obtained --Salesman (Pete) was terrific. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, no-pressure, punctual, polite. Couldn't ask for more. --Installation trucks were immaculate. --Installation crew was professional, polite, punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. Carmine Jr. showed me problems with our heating system that were building up and never identified by our prior heating/AC service company (we got 2x per year service) or by our oil company (1x per year service). He took the time to explain each issue, how it occurred and where it could progress. --The installation crew took pride in their work and stayed until the job was done (8:00pm one evening to get us up and running) I would definitely recommend Carmine's (and Pete) and will almost certainly be switching my service to them. Ray and Donna arrived like clockwork every morning at 7:30 am and worked the entire day till the job was done. Ray did most of the actual construction and Donna worked very hard to get him what he needed at a moment's notice, which among many things included mixing mortar and hauling bricks. Throughout the job it was obvious that detail was very important to both of them. They asked us for our input throughout and gave us advice on taking down a large pine tree which they felt was hindering air circulation to the chimney bricks. It was September when this work was going on and a couple of nights it got a bit chilly. We were unable to turn our furnace on because of the chimney construction. Donna called us after hours and asked if we were warm enough and offered to bring a space heater. They finished on schedule and were meticulous in cleaning the area before they left. They came in the summer of 2012 to seal the bricks as they said they would. If I were to rate them on a scale of 1-10, 10 being outstanding, it would have to be a 10 for workmanship, professionalism, courtesy, friendliness and caring. Ten is a hard number to earn from me and they deserved nothing less. He's our go-to plumber based on his professionalism and his familiarity with our local water issues. This visit was one in a series of repairs on our shower--we finally went ahead and replaced the entire fixture on Randy's recommendation, which was good timing as one of the pipes was ready to break. The hot water heater was also ready to go so we replaced that as well. Randy came out on a Tuesday morning after we called due to no hot water. He relit the pilot light and took a good look at the water heater, then suggested we replace it. He gave us an estimate for the hot water heater then took a look at the shower and gave us an estimate on that work as well. He came back the next morning to do the work. He arrived on time, tackled the hot water heater first and completed that in a timely manner. Due to some challenges in the space, he had to get additional parts and the job took a little longer than expected. He then replaced the shower/tub valve and left mid to late afternoon. The whole time he was friendly, professional and courteous. He's great with our big dog and very friendly with us. As a woman hiring contractors, I sometimes encounter challenging attitudes from them but never from Randy, he's just a nice guy. He helped us select the right shower/tub valve for our setup and we're extremely happy with the product. It looks great and works beautifully."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ma/middleton/absolute-precision-plumbing%2C-heating-and-cooling-reviews-6328469.htm"},"position":4}]}

FAQs for heating oil service projects in Northfield, VT
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
