"I gave Xpro Remodeling a 50% deposit of $1,600 to start a job. They agreed to start in late August, and then took on another job, trying to push my work out two months. I asked for a refund and/or the possibility to bump me in earlier as I was having a tenant move in and she did not want work done in the house while she lived there. I ended up losing a month's rent, and then they did not start the job two months later. They cited that they could keep my deposit because I signed a non-refundable contract. They are the one's who breached the contract, and they think that they can legally and ethically keep my deposit. They were totally inflexibile and unethical and I am taking them to small claims court to recoup my deposit."

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.  

The cost to install soft-close drawers is usually around $40 to $100 each when hiring a professional. If you’re looking to DIY, you can pick up soft-close drawer slides for anywhere from $5 to $230 each, depending on the quality and quantity. This price range may vary based on whether you choose a heavy-duty, side mount, under mount, or self-closing slide.

Like nearly any other upgrade, new and improved kitchen cabinets can increase your property value and make your home more attractive to potential buyers. After all, the majority of home buyers consider the kitchen to be one of the most important rooms in the house. New melamine cabinets can be a big plus, particularly if you select a classic wood grain or another light neutral color that provides a blank slate for other design elements.

You aren’t obligated to tip cabinet contractors, but you can choose to do so if they went above and beyond and you want to show your gratitude.
