"Very pleased with my new bedroom and bathroom. It turned out exactly as we were shown. There is a designer for them who came to our home and showed us on his computer exactly how the addition would look and it was as beautiful as he said it would be. Mark, the owner was so friendly and understanding when we added and made changes along the way. We were very comfortable with him working in our home even when we were not present. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will definitely use them again for any project we have."

"Alison is such a creative interior decorator. She is currently doing some renderings for our renovation. Not only does she design the space but she also makes sure that the space is functional and also matches our budget goals. We have about 1500 sq ft house that she is helping us decorate. She listens to our interests and designs the space adding her creativity. Initially when we were talking to contractors we were having a hard time because most of them want to impose their style on you. Now we just send the contractors our rendering and sample/link of things we select with Alison and everyone is on the same page. I would highly recommend her. And her pricing is very reasonable!"

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.

Improper hanging can damage the artwork, misalign it, and decrease its visual appeal, potentially compromising its structural integrity.

Services include layout planning, furniture selection, color coordination, and lighting design to optimize your space.

Part of the beauty of academia decor is that most textures and materials will feel right at home, provided they’re dark. Some common textures include natural wood, dark metals like iron, velvet, and leather. Incorporating these into your dark academia decor will make them look right at home. Glass is another option in some cases, so fill in gaps in your decor with small glass jars, or really lean on the gothic roots of dark academia with stained glass.

The cost to have your house decorated for Christmas depends on the extent of your holiday vision. Interior decorators charge between $50 and $150 per hour on average, so if your decorations are minimal, you could pay as little as $200 for a couple of hours of decorating. Interior decorators might also bill $5 to $12 per square foot, or a flat rate of $500 to $1,300 per room. You can also pay to have your Christmas tree professionally decorated for an average of $200 to $600. Contact a local interior decorator for a specific quote.
