"I used Movers USA at the beginning of this year to move my 10’ X 15’ storage unit from NE Balt. City to an apartment in Asheville, NC. Prior to my selecting this company, I checked out 6 or 7 other companies also listed on Angi, and along with Movers, seriously interviewed and went over to another company and met with them in person. I dealt with Movers’ owner Sharon Nahoom a number of times through email and in a couple of calls. In addition, I went over to his office located in the very large company storage facility in Jessup. I was impressed with this storeroom being well organized and its’ sheer size and the size and cleanliness of a truck he showed me. In addition, Sharon was friendly and overall fairly accommodating. Mr. Nahoom was the only one honest and clear with me, that as I personal had packed everything, and even though most boxes were clearly labeled, no insurance carrier would insure them as they had not been professionally packed. This honesty saved me at least $300 to $500 on needless insurance. In addition, Sharon was flexible with me on matching some terms that the other company I was serious dealing with offered—-no charge for an extra day of storing my items in the truck, extra steps to the apt, and on pick-up and delivery dates. He was also reasonable with his price—-being on the lower end of the scale from the 7-8 companies I had quotes from. The cheapest by far, was a company located in Washington state that used contracted movers—-but I didn’t want to take a chance with this The pick-up went smoothly, starting on time, and with the foreman—-Fernando, and four younger movers emptying my storage unit into their truck in a couple of hours. Two days later in Asheville, Fernando showed with a lady helper—-but no-one else. He managed to do the bulk of the moving himself up 30 steps—-as the apt was on the third floor. A number of times I had to assist him from his unloading the top couple of boxes—-as he would just carry them up on his back with a large canvas strap! If I had not helped some with some boxes would have fell to the floor. He stated he was in ‘a rush’ as he wanted to get back through the mountains down her before the forecasted storm early that afternoon. Things were rushed as fair as quick decisions by me which room specific boxes and items were put—-as we were dealing with the realities of one mover in a rush, with nice woman periodically bringing up a few more things up. Overall the move went smoothly, but I have concerns that just having one man with some extra help was “putting almost all the eggs in one basket”—-if he had gotten hurt, plus he had done all the 8 plus hour drive here, and was doing the same on the way back. Only thing broke was a worthless drinking glass that I had poorly packed. As I had about 280 boxes I wanted to open them all and see that there was no damaged items. I had taken some items to my sisters in Montgomery Co and then took down most this when I headed south a few days after the storage unit move, and given a number things to Goodwill —-so not sure about a couple of things I thought I still had. Overall I would have given this company somewhere around a “B+” grade but as there are no ‘pluses’ or ‘minuses’ that is why I gave Movers 4 stars rather than the 5."

"We have used Paulanne at Exquisite Designs for two large-scale remodels in our home during the last five years. Initially we hired her for a complete kitchen remodel that included replacing all flooring on the first floor of the home and selecting paint colors for other rooms in addition to the kitchen area. Paulanne is an amazing resource. She was beyond attentive to any and all needs and concerns regarding the remodel. Every choice she made turned out to be wonderful. She kept in constant contact with the contractor to ensure that the remodel was completed in an efficient manner. Her help with cabinet, granite, flooring etc selection was invaluable. Last year we hired Paulanne for another remodel to a master bathroom, the creation of a new guest room, new blinds throughout the home, new carpet, new windows, and a custom walk-in closet among other things. Once again I leaned on her heavily and trusted her with the decisions I could not make – whether it was tile or paint or placement of structures. She managed several different contractors for us and her oversight could not have been better. I have recommended Paulanne to friends over the years – one of which has now hired her for the second time too – and will continue to do so. We cannot be happier with the end results of both of our major remodels."

Price is very reasonable, and I would trust him with my most cherished heirlooms. Best furniture restorer I have used in the last thirty years!"

"A week before Thanksgiving 2022, our nephew sat down hard on one of our kitchen stools and broke a large support dowel, leaving the stool useless. We were hosting Thanksgiving dinner that year and needed every seat possible, and didn't have time to buy a new set. We called several shops in the area and the only one who responded before the holiday was Miller Restoration. Ann was incredibly responsive and asked if I could bring the stool in the next day. I met Ann and her husband Kevin, who is the restoration specialist. They are a wonderful couple who take pride in the work they perform. Kevin was able to build a custom dowel and make it like new in time for the holidays. And the price was far less expensive than buying a new stool. Fast forward a year and our nephew managed to break one of the other stools in the same manner. Again, we were up against the holiday clock. Ann and Kevin picked up the stool from our house and returned it after completely rebuilding it. We can't recommend them highly enough."
