"This family owned business went out of their way to work with me on a Christmas tree lighting project! We are going to be on the Holiday Home Tour this year and they did outstanding work to make things work out for us. It was an additional surprise for my husband who is a police officer to see his 40 foot Thin Blue Line tree all done up in blue lights this year! We can't thank you enough for make it so special for him."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Consider hiring your professional to decorate other areas of your house in addition to the Christmas tree. They can match the rest of your home decor to the tree's design and even extend the style to your outdoor holiday decor .

There are many types of Christmas lights to choose from when working with a light installer. The main types available for outdoor lighting are dome, LED, incandescent, and C9, and your lighting professional’s choice will depend on the location and overall design.

C9 lighting is typically the most expensive option, ranging from $15 to $70 per 25-foot strand. These usually have fewer bulbs per strand, so you might need more than expected to cover a large area. Dome lighting is usually the most cost-effective option, ranging from $6 to $15 per 25-foot strand. These bulbs are smaller and rounder than other options, creating a softer look.

To hang Christmas lights outside without nails, consider using alternatives like adhesive hooks, gutter clips, or even hot glue. These options allow you to secure lights to various surfaces without causing damage to your roof or siding. Be sure to clean and prepare the surface before applying these alternatives for better adhesion.

Christmas trees need about 100 lights per foot, so you would need 700 lights for a 7-foot tree.

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.
