When we walk away we want you to have received the service that you desired and paid for with the knowledge that its done correct and safe. We come out find out what your needs are if its a big job we can give you an estimate or you can have a licensed electrician for $65 and hour and a apprentice for $35 an hour which equals $100 an hour if needed for two. this is a flat rate for labor with materials added in as needed for project. We bill at end of job after you have seen that your project has been complete in the way we both agreed on. if its a new install we give 1 year labor warranty and your parts come with what ever manufacturer warranty it provides. "Thank you Pratte Construction for my beautiful new floors. After being left with only subfloors this team came in to level out and replace damaged subflooring and install my new LVP. They were on time, explained everything they were doing and completed the job on time as contracted. To top it off they exceeded my expectation with freshly painted base boards!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

An electrician can handle wiring issues with the garage door opener, like faulty connections, circuit problems, or sensor malfunctions, but they’re not the right person to hire for mechanical repairs. Garage door specialists handle things like broken springs, tracks, and panels, while electricians step in if there’s an issue with power supply, motor function, or safety sensors that aren’t responding correctly.

If a 240V appliance is connected to a 120V outlet, the lower voltage will cause that appliance to receive insufficient power. This may result in reduced performance, malfunctions, or even damage to the appliance's components. Depending on the size of your electrical circuit, you’ll likely need to reset a tripped circuit breaker at the very least.

Yes, in some locations, it is required by the National Electric Code (NEC) to have a transfer switch installed for electrical emergencies. In addition to following electrical code, generator transfer switches ensure your home is fully protected during a power outage. By switching the power from the main breaker to the generator breaker, you can seamlessly operate your HVAC, lights, appliances, devices, and more during an emergency.

Yes. You should always turn off the power to the work area before beginning, use a voltage tester to ensure it’s off, and wear protective gear, such as insulated gloves or safety glasses, to prevent risk of injury. Proper wiring and grounding techniques are also necessary to make sure the job is done right the first time and won’t harm any future homeowners.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.
