Mark suggested use of an aggregate concrete that is simply beautiful. The combination of the parking pad and sidewalk have addressed mobility issues that I have, and allow me to enter and exit the house by myself. The second job transformed the front of our house from looking like an abandoned property to one that we can enjoy. There are still some planting decisions to be made and implemented, but that will be a third job. We look forward to working with Mark and his crew again. Workmen show up late morning and leave early afternoon. Was promised that men would work every weekday until finished, but there were periods where they did not show up for as many as 5 workdays. Stairs were built incorrectly with 7.5 inch deep trends but plans called for 12 inch trends and building code requires at least 11 inches. For that reason, it failed inspection. So, thay came back and tried to recut the same stringers to make it work and finally realized it would not so cut new stringers. New stairs now installed to plans but now concrete pad is too short. Handrails have not yet been reinstalled and no one has been back since last week. Multiple emails to owner with no response. However, just received a bill for balance on completed deck! Accountant apologized but her file states it was completed. She asked what needed to be done still and was very helpful in offering to help in any way she could. Still have not heard back from owner, 5 emails in past week and no response. Some other issues were the ballusters were cut wrong twice, the support posts are off center on the piers, splits in the toprails and trends because they would not predrill for the screws. The crew removed a 15" width of the slab along three walls, and the molded portion of the wall up to the height of the window well, and an 18" section along the bottom of the remainder of that wall and the other wall with window wells. They removed the old pipe and the old aggregate, then put in new aggregate, pipe, moisture drain along the walls, and drains from the window wells. After placing the pump, they did a nice job of pouring and finishing the concrete.
My only complaint is that their crew wanted to cut corners. All Aspects markets themselves as one of the few EPA certified mold remediation specialists, and this was a major factor in selecting them, but the crew that performed the work hardly cared about the mold. Water had leaked through the wall and into the drywall and carpet and then molded. The crew merely folded back the carpet to access the floor, but were not going to remove the moldy section even though their estimator and I had discussed this very thing.
They were also to seal the basement from the upstairs and use a filtered air pump vented to the outside to pull the basement air and mold spores out of the house while cleaning the area. Although they sealed the basement, they did not use the pump until I insisted. When I asked about it, they said that there was not any cement dust yet, but they may put the pump in use when they began jack-hammering the floor. They did not even understand that they pump was for the mold, not the dust. Certified mold remediation does not matter much unless the crew themselves are properly trained and care. When I insisted, they did bring the pump down and plug it in, but they didn't vent it outside. The let it blow right into the basement. I had to insist on that, too. Not the sharpest knives in the draw, these guys. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/md/savage/all-aspects-waterproofing-reviews-2078451.htm"},"position":9}]}

We were notified by the water company that we had a leak in our water supply between our house and the water main. It seemed like we were facing a complicated repair that would require extensive trenching and going through walls as well as a concrete floor.

The men who did the work were very courteous and efficient. Three months after the installation, however, we learned that the pump had been connected to a an outlet that didn't receive power on a continuous basis. This could have precipitated a flood while we were out of the country, but...

I wanted to have them spray my doors/drawers, with a hard finish. I did some of the prep, and took them over to them. They did final f prep then had a special coating put on. They worked with me very smoothly.

"We were excited that we found Mencia Concrete from the dozens of contractors we reviewed. Aldo Mencia, the owner, gave us a great quote and timeline to complete building a paver patio with a wall in our backyard. He and his crew worked tirelessly and completed the project on time. Moreover, they replaced the sod that was damaged around the outside of the patio during the construction with some of the old sod they saved. Our patio looks beautiful. We are so grateful to Aldo and his crew for a job well done."

Concrete Finishing questions, answered by experts
Most garage floor paints are epoxy-based and available in DIY kits. One-part epoxies are simpler to apply than two-part epoxies, which have a more involved process. Sometimes, people also use latex-based paint because it’s easier to clean up mistakes with soap and water. Either way, make sure your paint is specifically designed for concrete garage floors. It should say so on the label.
Clean with a damp mop and reseal every few years to protect the surface and enhance appearance.
Regular sealing, proper drainage, and periodic inspections prevent premature wear and cracking.
There are a few different types of finishes to choose from for the final step of the project.
Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. Oil-based polyurethane sealants let out more odors and fumes into the air (it’s especially important to wear a respirator if you choose this type), but they take longer to dry, which can be more forgiving during the finishing step.
Some may prefer wood oil to polyurethane because rather than creating a layer, it becomes part of the wood. Wood oil takes longer to dry, and is less resistant to wear and tear; however, it creates a natural-looking result by enhancing the grain of the wood.
The trick to getting a smooth finish when pouring concrete is to smooth the surface of the concrete with a magnesium float. This tool helps bring the finer, smoother aggregate to the surface for a cleaner finish. Don’t overdo the floating process, though, or the slab can become weaker and start to scale.
