"It went well, they were the ones that told me about the crack chimney but explained that they don't do that kind of work.  However had to contact Angie's list back to hire a masonry.

"I have a 40 year old fireplace and chimney in need of repair to be safely used. They did a thorough inspection of the inside and outside, showed me the pictures and where repairs were required. Their knowledge was excellent! Chimney Inspectors were extremely professional, competent and clean. The price was fair for this work and the need to get it done by competent professionals that back up their work. This work requires the right weather which caused some delays on some of the outside finish work - which was smart. If they had done the work in cold weather, it is likely to have failed. They came through and finished the job when the weather was appropriate. They always responded to my calls and always addressed and resolved my concerns. Removing the old liner is dirty work and they did it without leaving a trace of ash/dirt in the house. The new chimney flue, cap work great. The job was clean and well done. I had complete confidence in the owner and his team during the job. Chimney inspectors will be my go-to chimney company from now on."

"Nathaniel has excellent communication skills and shows pride in his craft. I bought a home and the chimney was leaking by day 2. I called O-line Chimney and they came to the property within 24hrs to take a look and gave me an estimate within 20 minutes. Nathaniel took photos of the caps and explained how they were improperly installed and one had a dummy cap (prior owners were trying to save money). He let me know that the caps were sitting on rubber vice concrete and the leak was likely due to that in addition to the liners not being elevated to the proper height. He detailed his exact course of action and returned on time at his next available appointment. He was neat, honest and efficient. Couldn’t ask for better service. The price was more than fair and the craftsmanship was excellent."

"I would HIGHLY recommend this company. We received an estimate for cleaning our chimney and fireplace when purchasing our home and the work ended up being far more extensive than the original estimate (major safety issue was found during cleaning). A&T Chimneys visited our home 4 times over the course of 2 months to finish the work. They worked around our schedules and were always on time, worked hard, and thoroughly explained all the work and future work. They were extremely reasonably priced and we do not believe we would have received anywhere near the same level of service from another provider.

"Cleaned wood stove pipe.    Repaired chimney masonry cap.   Installed chimney cap.    Restored 2nd rusting chimney cap.  Inspected chimney liners.   Good steady work.   Personable.   Also does decks and masonry repair.   Made suggestions and went a little beyond the request with an easy fix on an existing component.

"The service was fine. The only thing is that they were really late coming. So, it was like dark when they got out of here. They left the area good when they were finished. It took them an hour-and-a-half to complete the job. They sent me a picture of the chimney. The price was great. They did show up."

"Two gentlemen arrived, very courteous and professional.  I escorted one gentleman to the furnace area to investigate what would be cleaned.  I was amazed to see what I saw!  Soot (looking more like crumbled dirt and sand) nearly filled the flue; solid evidence there was a serious and potentially unsafe problem in that side of the chimney.  The other gentleman shared that he'd go to the top of the chimney to advise me of the condition.  He also took pictures on their phones so I could see the condition above.  There was no cap on the furnace chimney (I had one on the fireplace chimney).  He also looked into the fireplace chimney which I greatly appreciated.  One gentleman advised me of the cost of the repairs, I agreed to the cost, and they began working.  These gentlemen were outstanding; demonstrating great concern for the safety of my home.  I would not hesitate to use them again.

"Called at 9 am to get an estimate, arrived the SAME DAY an hour later. Inspected 3 different flues for cleaning and determined that they were in great shape and did not need to be serviced. Installed 3 caps. The whole process took about 4 hours from the initial call to payment. A couple of things worth noting about this company, aside from the quick turn-around on the work. Johhny Mack, the owner's son, is very polite and honest. He probably could have told me my flues needed cleaning and charged me for moving a brush around. I wouldn't have known. The home is a 100 years old and I would have believed him. He also did not have a new cap for one of the smaller flues, but found a slightly used one in his shop and basically installed it at cost. He also reviewed basic fire safety with me, and advised me on several safety issues in my home, not in an attempt to sell me fire extinguishers, just as good advice."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals can often retrofit models with minimal disruption.

Yes, with features like LED lighting and variable speed controls for efficiency.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.
