Customers say: Quick response

"Ryder's Handyman was responsive, reached out, and returned texts/calls promptly. Ryder's provided a very reasonable and accurate estimate and actually came in just a bit below estimate when the work was completed. The work was quality and I'm delighted with the finished product (trimmed bathroom vanity mirror, a large corner mirror over double sinks)."

"They remodeled a portion of my deck so I could have a place to sit in the warmer weather to enjoy my dinner. They were able to finish it in a day and it looks absolutely wonderful. It all came together after the table and chairs and hanging lights were added. 10/10 would recommend!"

Small jobs welcome

"Tom and his team build shelves in our basement. They always showed up on time and did beautiful work that was impressive. he listened to our requirements and what we needed and build all the shelves exactly as we described. They were very neat and always cleaned up after themselves. The cost was excellent for the amount of work and time they spent installing the many shelves they build."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Permits are generally required to build an in-ground swimming pool. These permits cover aspects like zoning, safety fencing, and electrical work. Obtaining the correct permits involves coordination with local building authorities.

Before deciding to install a swimming pool in your yard, there are many factors to consider. Even if you still need to figure out the specifics with your pool installer, having an idea of what you'd like will help the initial consultation. Some topics to consider include:

  • Will you use salt water for your pool or traditional hose water?

  • How big of a pool do you want to install? How deep?

  • What special zoning laws do you need to follow for your area?

  • Do you want to keep it simple or add special features like underwater lighting and waterfalls?

Vinyl pools are the least expensive for installation thanks to the relatively low cost of vinyl pool liners. However, vinyl liners do not last as long as fiberglass or concrete designs, which could balance out the cost of the pool overall depending on its size.

The regulations for pool fence heights vary by state, so be sure to research what the legal, minimum height is in your area before purchasing or installing a fence. Though every region is different, generally a pool fence must be at least 4 and ½ feet high. If you’re unsure whether you need a fence around your pool, and how high that fence should be, contact a local pool enclosure expert to help you successfully, and safely, move forward.

It’s best to avoid draining your pool onto your lawn for several reasons. Most importantly, your local municipality may not allow homeowners to drain pools in areas where it can seep into groundwater. Additionally, draining pool water on your lawn can cause erosion and damage your grass.
