"Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about Jerry and Adam. We had bad boards missed by a recent deck dude and they immediately addressed and replaced. Jerry and Adam as a team are sensational and I mean that! Even at completion, I advised about a bad gat closure issue and they immediately fixed that too ....in minutes. Don't hesitate at all. This company is your go to for all work. Amazing! We cannot thank them enough!"

"Ronnie was great to work with! He arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently to install the deadbolt we needed, used a drop cloth to catch any potential mess, and did it all with a friendly, professional attitude, and for a great price. What more could you ask for? We look forward to hiring him again in the future."

"Michael did a great job in replacing the fixtures and cartridges in both of our showers, finding and removing the cause of restricted water flow in one of them, replacing the caulk around our tub, and removing a stuck hose on one of our hose bibs outside. He was very cordial, and he even took a video of the water cut off in the crawlspace, which two previous service people had told me an incorrect location for, and tightened up a loose toilet. He arrived on time, kept us updated at every step of the way, and cleaned up after himself. We will definitely hire him again for other things we need done around the house."

"Mike is hands down the best handyman around. First off, he's an honest guy. We were looking for a deal on an air conditioner installment so we figured Mike could do the job and we would buy the unit & save some money. When we asked him, he was up front and said have the company you buy it from to do the install and get the warranty. Honest answer from a good guy. We have used his services for three years as have several of our neighbors. He is timely, responsible, and his work is great. We've hired him for garage door repair, to fix broken windows, electrical work, powerwashing, you name it. The neighbors we have referred to Mike are very glad to have him ad a handyman ad well."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Build a seasonal routine for pool construction and installation by inspecting the shell for cracks caused by winter freeze-thaw cycles in early spring. During summer, check deck drainage blockages after intense VA thunderstorms. In the fall, winterize the system before the first hard freeze by blowing out plumbing lines to the 16-inch frost depth. Finally, clear heavy leaf debris from cover anchors to maintain a secure environment.

Helpful?

The longevity of pool construction and installation depends heavily on addressing local soil conditions. Stafford has expansive clay soils that shift and stress pool shells. You must perform a geotechnical soil assessment before starting. Additionally, plan for proper drainage to prevent deck heaving and erosion. Account for annual freeze-thaw cycles by placing plumbing lines below the frost line and using freeze-resistant materials for your deck.

Helpful?

A major mistake during pool construction and installation is skipping the initial soil test. Building on untested clay causes severe shell cracking and deck heaving. Homeowners also fail to winterize plumbing to the proper 16-inch frost depth, leading to burst pipes. Finally, many people underestimate the strict VA barrier requirements. Always include compliant fencing in your original design to avoid failed inspections and dangerous hazards.

Helpful?

Start your pool construction and installation with a thorough site and soil assessment. Stafford contains regulated resource protection areas and floodplains that require strict construction setbacks. You must verify these boundaries and local zoning rules before finalizing any designs. Additionally, prioritize proper drainage infrastructure, such as French drains, to manage heavy summer rainfall and prevent water from pooling on the dense clay soil.

Helpful?

Make pool construction and installation safer by installing a compliant 48-inch enclosure barrier with self-closing and self-latching gates. You must also install anti-entrapment drain covers to meet state safety standards. Since VA experiences intense summer heat, choose textured concrete or cool-coat finishes for the deck to protect bare feet. Finally, use solid fencing to keep local wildlife and pets away from the water.
