"Wes did a great job fixing my deck boards and power washing the deck. He did leave a bunch of the scrape wood around and I had to go back and forth with him to get him to pick up the junk. My big problem came when I attempted to get him to come back to stain the deck. I wanted to use a specific sealant and did the research and sent it to him because it was more then what I think he quoted. I was expecting him to read over the instructions and give me a price. Instead he tells me to go to a different store and buy something else. I had some other work for him anyway so suggested that he come over to quote the new work. We make plans for 8:30ish Saturday morning. Well, 8:30 comes and goes. About 9:05 I get a call from Wes saying that he's been up since 8:30 but hasn't left yet. No apology for being late, just an explanation that he was worn out from the day before. He says he can come right away and I know he lives about 10 minutes away so I say sure. Well, 35 minutes later, still no Wes. So I call and cancel. Wes does good work at fair prices but like so many handymen, he is hard to give work to."

"The fence looks great and the work was completed in a couple days. Good communication throughout the process. The installation crew was efficient and personable. The site was left clean both days. I would definitely call Good Neighbor Fence if more Fencing is needed."

"Excellent work! At least 1/3 of my roof on the north side had a great deal of moss on it. On much of the rest of the roof there were small amounts of moss along the bottom edge of shingles, and there were patches in scattered places on the main part of the shingles. After Hector and his son cleaned the roof, it looked brand new. They removed plants and furniture from our deck before the job and replaced them after the job. They even did a light washing of the vinyl siding of the house, which was outside the agreed-upon scope of work, but they did not charge me for it. As a former member of a site safety office in a then-Fortune 50 company, I was particularly impressed with the excellent precautions they took to insure their safety on the roof during the job. Hector’s 27+ years of experience was evident in every aspect of the job. I plan to bring him back in a year for annual maintenance. "We hired Mr. Scantling and his crew to redo the drywall on a floor to ceiling fireplace and rebuild a half wall previously done by an incompetent contractor and to repair/replace bulging splayed corner seams throughout the house. I was very nervous because we'd had such a bad experience with the previous contractor but Mr. Scantling and his men did excellent work and were very efficient. They finished the whole job in just under two days while being considerate of our schedules (my husband works from home). They didn't mind answering all my questions and were a very congenial crew. But the best part (for me) was that they truly did clean up after the job. This was one of the cleanest home repair/remodeling jobs we've had done in quite a while.
