"Justin showed up at or before the promised scheduled time. He did a good job cleaning the leaves and debris out of my gutters. He cleaned up all the debris blown on the ground around the house, decks and even a little extra leaves out of the bushes that I had missed. Definitely met my expectations at a reasonable price. Thanks"

"Called me to see if I was available to come earlier for my appointment and it worked out great. They cleaned the chimney and did the inspection and were very honest! They did not find any issues with my chimney and did not try to upsell or push anything on me that did not need to be done. Very friendly and professional"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a deck around a fire pit, as long as it is safely enclosed, meets code requirements, and is at least 15 feet away from your home. You’ll want to ensure you have a heat-resistant barrier between the fire pit and your deck to prevent any structural damage and fires. A galvanized ring surrounded by pavers, brick, or stone makes for a beautiful, safe, and sturdy design.

No. In most cases, it’s not colder or freezing temperatures that affect decking materials but the amount of moisture that seeps into the materials as a result. For example, wood decking material is more likely to suffer from rot or decay when exposed to excess moisture from snow or ice. An extreme change in temperature can cause wood to expand or contract, but only if it’s not properly treated beforehand.

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

The overhang, or nosing, of deck steps is another area that will be covered in building code requirements. The noses on your deck steps should have a minimum overhang of ¾ inch. For safety, usability, and code compliance, the nosing of deck steps should not extend past 1¼ inches.

Deck stairs should have at least three stringers rather than two. The recommended minimum width for stairs is 36 inches, and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors recommends at least three cut stringers to provide sufficient support on wood decking stairs of this width. Generally, stringers should be a maximum of 16 inches apart for wood decking and 12 inches apart for more flexible composite decking.
