"The initial meeting went fine, the man who came out seemed very knowledgeable.  Once they began the work, they finished in a timely manner, although I did notice they hit concrete in one of the locations they were trying to dig.  When I came home after they were done (I had left the final check with my daughter to take care of - mistake), I noticed the 'repairs' to the bricks were extremely sloppy:  completely different color mortar, etc.  There was a lot going on at the moment so I did not contact them right away, and then I procrastinated further since some time had already gone by and this was cosmetic, but when I finally did contact them, I was told their brick person had been fired and they would fix the problem, and he would call back the next day.  He did not call, so I sent pictures a few days later and my husband called a month or two later, but they never contacted us.  Later I found out that they had not submitted the final inspection report to the county by the deadline so things could be properly closed out, but since I did have a copy, I was able to send that in.  By the way, the 'inspection' was based on a review of the 'drive logs.'  Now I have had additional cracks/sticking doors inside and I think there may be a new crack outside (I have not compared yet with my pictures taken earlier to verify it is new.)  I have not yet contacted them about this problem to see if they will respond.

"It went well, Padro and his wife were very helpful in planning of our project, they both had good ideas to add to the project. Padro is very meticulous in his work and takes great pride in it as well. I would definitely have him come back and do any other projects that might come up. Anytime I had a call or concern Megan returned the phone call immediately."

"Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.

"WE HIRED JEFF AND MIDATLANTIC MASONRY TO  SHORTEN AN EXISTING FRONT FLOWER BED, AND FILL AND REPLACE WITH BRICK TO MATCH THE EXISTING PATIO BRICK.  THIS WIDENED THE APPROACH TO THE FRONT PORCH,AND MADE THE ENTIRE FRONT WALKWAY LOOK MORE APPEALING.
JEFF RETURNED MY CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT VERY PROMPTLY, AND CAME OUT TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE WITHIN A FEW DAYS.  HE WAS EXTREMELY PLEASANT TO WORK WITH AND VERY PROFESSIONAL.  HE MADE SUGGESTIONS THAT WE HAD NOT EVEN CONSIDERED, BUT WERE AN EXCELLENT WAY TO GET THE LOOK WE WANTED.  JEFF QUOTED A VERY REASONABLE PRICE AND ASSURED US HE COULD MATCH THE BRICK AND EXISTING MORTAR, WHICH HE DID.  TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, THE BRICK THAT WAS ALREADY THERE AS ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD.
JEFF AND HIS CREW WERE HERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE, WORKED HARD WHEN ON OUR PROPERTY AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES.  THEY WERE A LITTLE DELAYED DUE TO RAIN, BUT WERE HERE WHEN IT WAS APPROPRIATE, AND THEY FINISHED THE JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER.  IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!
JEFF ALSO CAME BACK A FEW WEEKS LATER AT OUR REQUEST TO ACID WASH THE NEW AREA AGAIN.  THERE WAS SOM CONCRETE DUST THAT HAD SETTLED INTO THE BRICK AND WE COULD NOT GET IT OUT.  HE WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO COME BACK , AND TOOK CARE OF THIS VERY MINOR ISSUE FOR US.   WE ARE SO HAPPY WE USED THIS COMPANY, AND PLAN ON USING THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE WHEN WE RE-DO OUR DRIVEWAY.
THEY GUARANTEE THEIR WORK, AND ARE JUST A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH.  IN MY OPINION, THIS WAS A SMALL JOB THAT SOME COMPANIES WOULD NOT EVEN CONSIDER GIVING AN ESTIMATE FOR, BUT JEFF TREATED US LIKE THIS WAS A MILLION DOLLAR JOB, AND WAS JUST AS CONCERNED ABOUT DOING GREAT WORK FOR US AS HE WOULD BE FOR A LARGER JOB.   I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IN NEED OF QUALITY MASONRY WORK.

"Attending young man nice. I was told I couldn't pay using a secured site like PayPal and offered my credit card over the phone. Was charged $7.50 more than the invoice total. Not that this is a big deal, but transparency and upfront honesty is huge to me... and I really don't like giving my credit card number to someone I don't know and have not met over the phone (which I had to do. Apparently, the additional $7.50 was the charge for doing this, which would've been nice to know ahead of time). I was also told I'd receive a formal estimate to repair what was found the morning of and have still yet to receive this. Days later and after having sent a few reminders/ inquiries about this. I hired this company based on the reviews I'd read; however, I'm disheartened to say, a 4 or 5 star rating was simply not reflective of my experience and interactions."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

A concrete overlay on an existing slab can range from 1/4 of an inch to 2 inches thick, though a minimum of 2 inches is often recommended to ensure stability and quality. The ideal thickness depends on the condition of the existing concrete and the depth of any planned designs or imprints. Before applying the overlay, it's important to repair and clean the surface, then apply a primer. For specialized work like a stamped concrete overlay, hiring an experienced contractor is recommended to determine the correct thickness and ensure the new layer isn't too high or heavy. For context, most standard concrete slabs are between 4 and 6 inches thick.

Like all concrete, pervious concrete is susceptible to cracking due to expansion and contraction from freezing and thawing or heavy weight. Pervious concrete, however, is less likely to crack due to moisture intrusion than traditional concrete since pervious concrete is designed to drain and hold water in the material’s voids.

The best solution to fix a foundation crack in your basement floor depends on the underlying cause. If you just have hairline cracks from settlements that are no longer growing, the best option is to seal them with a crack sealant. If the cracks continue to grow, one edge rises above the other, or there are signs that water is getting in through the crack, a professional repair will be necessary. Depending on the root cause, your professional may employ foundation underpinning or some other type of stabilization, seal the cracks, or install a drainage system.

In almost all cases, yes, a damaged concrete driveway can be repaired, and the repair cost will be more affordable than a full replacement. Even major damage, like a sinking section of concrete, can be repaired by a professional using mudjacking or polyurethane concrete lifting and will average about half of the cost of a new driveway.

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.
