"My wife and I purchased a charming brick ranch home from the 1970s with dreams of transforming it into our ideal living space. Our first project was opening up the kitchen/family room to the living room by removing a load-bearing wall—definitely not a DIY job. We posted our project on Angie’s List and were soon contacted by Isai Huezo, owner of Huezo’s Construction LLC. Isai visited us the next day, and his estimate was so reasonable that we eagerly hired them on the spot. On Monday, a professional crew of four, led by a foreman, arrived promptly at 7:00 AM and got straight to work. They were not only highly skilled but also incredibly polite, keeping the work area immaculate during the demolition. By the second day, the team had seamlessly removed the remaining 2x4s, installed a robust lintel beam, and perfectly matched the drywall and trim to the rest of the house. We also had an outdated picket wall around the basement stairs. Isai recommended modernizing it with a sleek 3-foot wall, and it was completed within the three-day timeframe. Thrilled with their exceptional work, we discussed adding a dream screen porch and deck. The estimate was too good to pass up, so we went ahead. The results were nothing short of spectacular. The screen porch was beautifully integrated with the roof joists, and the deck, built on sturdy 6x6 posts and attached to the house, was a masterpiece. The porch featured custom wiring for lights, a ceiling fan, and outdoor floodlights, with a stunning tongue-and-groove pine ceiling stained in a glossy walnut finish. The craftsmanship was top-tier, and the crew's professionalism and courtesy made the entire experience a delight. Encouraged by their success, we tackled our outdated 1970s kitchen next. Isai returned to vent and wire the microwave, install LED lighting, and add a sconce light. He even refinished the ceiling and windows. After removing the cabinets, Isai didn’t miss a beat, finishing the ceiling, painting the trim and windows, and installing a beautiful tile backsplash. When we realized our old appliances didn’t match the newly renovated space, Isai went above and beyond, helping us select and purchase new appliances and offering to install them. Huezo Construction exceeded our expectations in every way with their exceptional craftsmanship, incredible value, and the wonderful camaraderie we developed with Isai and his crew. "It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."
