Established in 1939 by Sherman J. Conner until 1971 when he incorporated with his sons, James and Jack. The company has grown and expanded over the years, including obtaining Class 1 State Registration in plumbing, building and electrical areas.

"This company cannot find a problem. Took them three times coming out to find a problem with the water heater after my wife told them to check the thermostat. The Rheem water heater was less than a year old has a 5-year Parts 1 year labor warranty. Received a bill for all work saying it was not under warranty. Went to Rheem and found out it was under warranty so-called SJ Conner and Sons told them it's under warranty and how to get the money from Rheem for the warranty work. I guess they don't understand English because it took two to three phone calls for them to finally talk to Rheem. One invoice was not under warranty because their Tech could not find a problem and said it was a cartridge in the bathroom faucet replace that did not work. For this invoice I'm refusing to pay because they guessed and we're wrong and did not fix the problem. And now we're going to court and so are a lot of others I found out. So if you want shabby work end up in court hire this company. If you want good work reliable technicians call someone else"

Visit us online at mssvcinc.com ! Licensed for new VA Dept of Health Inspection requirements for Alternative Onsite Sewage Systems. VA Class A Contractor.

"I called and got a quote of $295 to pump out my septic tank and when they finished the bill was $395 even though there were no issues with my septic system. They were also about an hour later arriving than the time window they had given me. In addition, there was supposed to be a discount for my subdivision and the people of course they didn't know anything about. The other issue was that the whole time they were here they were trying to upsell me on all their other services using scare tactics. Beware if you are considering using them."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

A sewer line should be cleaned at least once every 18 to 22 months. The process takes about 30 minutes or up to 5 hours, depending on the size of the line, how easy it is to access, and how long it’s been since the previous cleaning. If your sewer line hasn’t been cleaned in a couple of years or you don’t even know the last time it’s been cleaned, it’s time to call a pro.

If you’re not using a septic system, problems with your home’s plumbing won’t cause this—it’s a city problem. A large blockage in the municipal sewage lines may cause those lines to back up into your home. This is extremely unpleasant and can be a serious health risk due to bacteria and other contaminants. If this occurs, call a pro (or your city) immediately.

It's advisable to have your sewer line inspected every three to five years to ensure its proper functioning and detect any potential issues early on. However, the frequency of inspections can vary based on factors such as the age of your sewer system, the type of pipes used, and your property's location. If you notice any warning signs like slow drains, foul odors, or sewage backups, it's essential to schedule an inspection promptly, regardless of the regular maintenance schedule.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.
