Chris, Xavier, and Caleb from Ostrom Heating and Air were fantastic! They were professional, hard-working, and stayed late to make sure the job was done right. Their attention to detail and quality of work really stood out. Highly recommend this team for anyone needing HVAC services!

The service team was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They had excellent communications, and they were timely. I would use them again.

They rerouted my gas line, fixing the problem and I felt a lot more reassured that I was not going to have a spontaneous fire. The man was courteous, timely and helpful. I’d use them again. I don’t recall the price I paid but it was reasonable.

Left old cut offs and installed new ones above the old, this i would not do, sometimes they will leak again and i will have to hire someone to take them out .

There was some confusion initially in setting up service, as the person I spoke with on the phone had her days mixed up. She apologized, as did another person in a follow-up call, so that was appreciated--mistakes do happen. Ostrom sent out two men who diagnosed and repaired the issue we were having with our sump pump. The price was high, and there was no breakdown of that price, so we couldn't really figure out why it was so high. But we had a hard time finding a plumber who actually services our area and they did fix the problem fairly quickly, so all in all we were pleased and would likely call Ostrom if we have any future plumbing issues.

Went well - very professional, respected my house, no mess for me to clean up. They were about mid-level in bids - hence the B rating on price. However, best contractors I've had in my house since I've lived here.

They were professional and quite good to work with. It is also hard when you have to have the electricity turned off some throughout the day and they worked hard to not inconvenience us. Kevin and his group were very the best to work with and very professonal?

It went well. The electrician arrived right on time. Here's what I really liked: 1. He was able to get two out of three sockets working again (which gave me sufficient light) without any major repair, and only charged for the service call. 2. He did NOT try to sell me a "service contract", as so many other companies do the minute the repair is complete. I was very grateful for this. He showed up, did the job, and saved me money - what more can anyone ask?!

Estimated at $426.00!!! And we have the filter housing and filter! This estimate is waaay too high, as we found one other time with Ostrom. Will not call them again. On the plus side, the estimator was respectful and friendly.

A few of the light switches were moved around and I wish we had discussed this in more detail prior to the project. They did tell me they were going to change some of the circuits but I didn't fully understand what that meant and what kind of outcome would occur. When I asked if they could reconnect a certain light to a certain switch they told me they'd have to do a bunch of rewiring and I'd have to pay more. The rest of the project went really well. I don't have a lot of money and my house looks like I don't have a lot of money but they treated me like they took me seriously anyway, it took me a year to save the money for the project and I never felt blown off as I had with some other companies from which I had obtained an estimate.

They were very helpful in scheduling an electrician on very short notice.

Things went very well! Ostrom customer service called to alert me in advance that the electricians were on their way, and told me whom to expect. The electricians arrived on time. They were very courteous and professional, and Daniel was very knowledgeable. They knew just how to approach the job and completed it well. For the electrical system safety check, Daniel checked the main electrical panel, the outdoor electrical equipment, the branch circuit wiring, and life safety equipment. He gave me a written evaluation and list of recommendations. It was definitely worthwhile having this done because it made me aware of things that need to be addressed. Daniel just a few days ago installed the wiring for the under-cabinet lighting, and is waiting for the tile work to be completed before he installs the lights. Since they haven't yet been installed, the cost of service noted is only the cost for the chandelier installation.

One morning I noticed water on the basement floor, right below where the main line comes into the house. When it rains, this area is the only place where the basement leaks (pretty good a house 80+ years old!), but it wasn't raining. By turning off water to the house and monitoring the meter readingsl, I figured the leak was outside somewhere.  Next I called the water authority to have someone turn the water off.  I went online to Angie's List  and called a highly rated local plumber. Next day he came and dug around outside of the wall; he said water appeared to be coming from somewhere up  the line, but it would be almost impossible to figure out where without a lot of digging . Ok, so the whole line from street meter to the house would have to be replaced. He gave me an estimate. Next I looked at Angie's List ratings again, choosing Ostrom and one other company to get estimates. After I called them Wayne from Ostrom came by later in the afternoon, whereas the other folks couldn't make it for two more days, and we needed this problem to be resolved!
Wayne was easy to talk and listen to. He answered any questions I had--even put on shoe  covers before entering the house to protect our floors. I learned from him that we could use a hose between our good neighbor's spigot and ours to use  her water until a new main was put in. (This ended up working just fine.) Before the end of the day I received a detailed estimate via email which was almost the same as the first one I got from the plumber who did the  digging. The third company I called finally sent someone to look at the situation and give an estimate, but I didn't receive anything until the next afternoon. By that time I had decided to hire Ostrom because, for about the same cost I could have a team instead of one plumber do the work. From there the process was smooth and easy (though we had to wait until city workers came to bust up the sidewalk segment next to our meter for access), from making a down payment through scheduling the work until November 24, 2015, when Wayne and two others showed up and went to work installing a new water line. They worked from mid morning until mid afternoon. Once finished, Wayne showed me what they had done, including new  piping from the new cutoff up to a cold water line inside the basement. Our problem was fixed just two days before Thanksgiving, so no worries over the holidays. I recommend Ostrom heartily to any who need plumbing help!

My 18 year old gas water heater with power vent was acting up for some time and finally it broke down, it will light up fine but flame wouldn't stay on, most likely thermostat was bad. I called Ostrom, they arrived as scheduled (two days later), and actually couple of hours early as the technician happened to be in the neighborhood. Technician was quite courteous and  knowledgeable, I asked if he can repair the old one but he didn't seem to be interested in even looking at it. Also, quoted possible $1000 to $1200 to repair it. Estimate for the new one of the same brand and type was about $3100 installed, 15% discount if sign up for service contact for about $10 per month. I was shocked at the price but needed to get new one so agreed to $2690. Work was done quickly; it took about 2 hours to install the new one as it was in kind replacement. No new exhaust pipes or gas lines, old ones fitted perfectly. I am fairly satisfied with the work performed but extremely unhappy with the price. I researched the price of the water heater afterword and was shocked at what I paid. I could have purchased the same water heater online (Sears, Supply House and few others...) delivered at home anywhere from $900 to $1200. So I paid $1500 to install a product that costs worst case $1200. I understand the argument about Ostrom having an overhead for the business, workmen's comp insurance...etc. But this was ridicules, $1500 for a straight forward installation that took two hours!!! My mistake for not getting more estimates or even planning the replacement earlier. 
Finally my advice to others is that if your water heater is more than 10 years old consider replacement before it breaks down. Get few estimates (do not even consider Ostrom) or purchase it yourself and get a plumber to install it or even consider doing it yourself, it is not really that difficult.

Ostrom completed smaller projects at this location.  This was the largest job they've done at this location and they were just as good.  They were very upfront about costs so when it came time to pay there were no surprises.  Getting electricity to the skylights turned out to be more difficult than they originally thought, but they got the job done.  I ordered new bath vents without consulting them and the vents seemed to be a little more tricky to install but Ostrom was great at discussing all of the problems that could happen before installation began so I could decide whether to go with that model or get other ones. 
Ostrom's service was great and I will use them again for future electrical needs for the house.
