"I hired Jovel to build stairs, retaining walls and planters connecting my existing patio to a new patio that I also hired Jovel's company to build. The stairs, retaining wall and planters were completed in September. In October, I had a licensed inspector at my home for another project and he pointed out that the stairs Jovel had built did not meet code. The inspector stated that stairs must be of equal rise and the lower and upper stairs were not in acceptable range with the other two. He also stated that three or more stairs required a handrail and that the stairs were POOR construction. Jovel has refused to correct the issue or refund any money paid. "The personal and professional pride and attention to detail BWSS takes is reflected in the excellent quality of the work and is performed at reasonable prices. BWSS has repaired the roof and gutters, replaced the deck, and installed hardwood floors. The exterior of our natural cedar shingled house hadn't been washed or treated in 20 years. BWSS power washed and stained the house taking it from black back to it's original natural splendor! I plan to use BWSS for several more projects. "

"A Home Renovation LLC (Owner: Javier) ​Overall Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars (DO NOT RECOMMEND) ​I hired A Home Renovation LLC for a porch renovation, which included a smaller, agreed-upon auxiliary job. While the project was completed, the experience was deeply unsatisfactory due to both subpar workmanship in highly visible areas and the highly unprofessional and belligerent behavior of the owner, Javier. ​Issues with Professionalism and Communication ​Javier is exceptionally challenging and argumentative to work with. His communication was defined by open hostility, sarcasm, and dismissal of customer input. ​Argumentative and Dismissive: He was openly hostile to basic customer questions and input. When questioned, he repeatedly reminded me that he had "been doing this work 10 years," using his asserted experience to dismiss any concern or design preference I had. ​Rude and Disproportionate: When I politely requested an itemized receipt, his immediate, disproportionate response was: "Jesus Christ you told me at my earliest convenience. I'm working on it. I've been busy." This established a tone of disrespect for the entire engagement. ​Excusing Poor Quality: When a flaw in the completed work was pointed out, Javier’s response was, "you get what you pay for," suggesting low quality was justified despite our agreed-upon contract price. ​Contractual Obligation Treated as a "Favor": He treated the small, agreed-upon extra job as a personal favor rather than a commitment under our contract. ​Critical Workmanship and Material Damages ​The structural work was adequate, but the final, highly visible details suffered from poor execution and damaged materials. ​Poor Workmanship: The final detailing includes uneven cuts and poor finishes in prominent areas. ​Material Damage: We noted several critical material damages upon final inspection: ​Cracked stair post tubing. ​The hand railing running down the stairs is badly scratched. ​A new white handrail has a noticeable black stain on the bottom. ​Conclusion ​Had Javier been willing to engage respectfully, I might have been able to overlook minor imperfections. However, his belligerent attitude, combined with noticeable flaws and material damage, makes this unacceptable. ​I now require that all noted issues, including specific poor workmanship and material damages, be corrected immediately or that I be reimbursed for the cost of professional repairs. Due to Javier's conduct, A Home Renovation LLC has lost any opportunity for future projects I had planned. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless you can handle the disrespect."
