A Home Renovation LLC (Owner: Javier) ​Overall Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars (DO NOT RECOMMEND) ​I hired A Home Renovation LLC for a porch renovation, which included a smaller, agreed-upon auxiliary job. While the project was completed, the experience was deeply unsatisfactory due to both subpar workmanship in highly visible areas and the highly unprofessional and belligerent behavior of the owner, Javier. ​Issues with Professionalism and Communication ​Javier is exceptionally challenging and argumentative to work with. His communication was defined by open hostility, sarcasm, and dismissal of customer input. ​Argumentative and Dismissive: He was openly hostile to basic customer questions and input. When questioned, he repeatedly reminded me that he had "been doing this work 10 years," using his asserted experience to dismiss any concern or design preference I had. ​Rude and Disproportionate: When I politely requested an itemized receipt, his immediate, disproportionate response was: "Jesus Christ you told me at my earliest convenience. I'm working on it. I've been busy." This established a tone of disrespect for the entire engagement. ​Excusing Poor Quality: When a flaw in the completed work was pointed out, Javier’s response was, "you get what you pay for," suggesting low quality was justified despite our agreed-upon contract price. ​Contractual Obligation Treated as a "Favor": He treated the small, agreed-upon extra job as a personal favor rather than a commitment under our contract. ​Critical Workmanship and Material Damages ​The structural work was adequate, but the final, highly visible details suffered from poor execution and damaged materials. ​Poor Workmanship: The final detailing includes uneven cuts and poor finishes in prominent areas. ​Material Damage: We noted several critical material damages upon final inspection: ​Cracked stair post tubing. ​The hand railing running down the stairs is badly scratched. ​A new white handrail has a noticeable black stain on the bottom. ​Conclusion ​Had Javier been willing to engage respectfully, I might have been able to overlook minor imperfections. However, his belligerent attitude, combined with noticeable flaws and material damage, makes this unacceptable. ​I now require that all noted issues, including specific poor workmanship and material damages, be corrected immediately or that I be reimbursed for the cost of professional repairs. Due to Javier's conduct, A Home Renovation LLC has lost any opportunity for future projects I had planned. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless you can handle the disrespect.

Javier and his crew did an excellent job! They tore down our old deck and completely replaced it. Javier recommended the trex color as well as the railing, and the final result is beautiful. This has to be one of the best home improvement companies in central Virginia. Doing business with the owner, Javier, was easy and straight forward. Due to Javier's years of experience in the building trade, he built the deck that we requested exactly the way we wanted. I can assure you that from the planning stage to the construction phase, Javier takes personal pride in his work and the end results are evident of that pride in his work. I am very happy and satisfied with doing business with A Home Renovation LLC. I am confident that they will provide the same customer satisfaction that I experienced when they work on your home renovation project.

Javier and his cousin did a variety of indoor jobs for us in our new house ranging from repainting the entire interior to tiling our kitchen backsplash to installing floating shelves and a mantlepiece to installing a barn door that required work on the wall. Javier’s pricing was competitive and he added a few jobs as we went, showing appreciated flexibility. We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship and Javier was easy to work with. We would recommend him again and will keep him in mind for future projects.

The technician, Javier, showed up to do the job and did an excellent job for my sister. He assembled her stationary and ensured that it was working proper. She was extremely happy and gave him more work. He fixed the locks on the front and back door, which was no problem with his skills. He also setup her microwave in her kitchen so she can conveniently use it. She definitely will hire him in the near future. She feels confident that he will get the job done.
